Hi,
I'm travelling from Exeter to Tenerife on 12 July returning on 19. I've got row 13 seats which I'm told are extra legroom. Do you know what the sort of pitch is for those seats. Also is there any IFE please?
Many thanks
gaz
As Darren and others help us a lot on this site, I thought I'd pass on a quick mini review on our recent flight....
Just done TOM632/3 LGW SSH.
Operated by G-FDZD 737-800 (same plane both ways).
Crew: Professional and curtious - helped with an issue on boarding for return last night in SSH (ground crew changed our seats as we were leaving the gate!! - complete mess considering our 2 year old was now many seats behind etc!!!!) - anyway all sorted in the end thanks to the crew.
Seats: Was dreading the leg room - first time on a short haul plane for many years! - the way my knees gently touched the Recardo seat in front was very comparable to sitting in economy with Virgin!! So I was quite impressed knowing that this was a short haul charter pitch! Others in out party (13 of us), didn't like the lack of storage for anything other than some magazines (for water bottle etc).
Food: Children meals were the best(!!). Meals were nothing special but were certainly fine and quite edible.
IFE: 1 film each way, terrible selection (my taste!). Worst thing was that the drop down screen was directly above and kept me awake when trying to get some sleep this morning as too bright!
Finally, flight times - terrible - not sure why they can't schedule SSH flights earlier in the day?
Tired now!
Welcome onboard

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information. This ensure we get the correct information for you as there are often several flights. EXT-TFS-EXT (TOM6242/3 or TOM6584/5?) are operated by an Airbus A320-200 (I think). You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). There are extra legroom seats at the overwing exits on the outer seats on row 13. I can't give a seat pitch, but there's more room than standard seating. There's no IFE on the 733's.
Darren

i was going to crete in september, not been to greece in about 5 years, but we did the sums and what with the jolly old euro etc it was going to cost a right royal stack for 2 weeks self catering, sooooo we are dipping our feet in turkish waters for the first time ever! we have picked a lovely little place called kadikale in a village called kadikalesi and we are flying into bodrum on 22/9/2011 from manchester on tom flight 886/887 home again (lovely flight times both legs actually)
we have extra legroom booked that we carried over from our original booking and flight, anyway- i searched my flight number on HT and i believe we may be on the a321, is this correct and does that therefor mean the old 'shorthaul premium' cabin is now going to be extra legroom in addition to the usual bulkhead and overwing rows? just wondered like so i can think about where we want to sit and daddy longlegs (my husband-legs like a drag queen, you know) will know he will have room to move...

PS/ well and truly

Our holiday is almost upon us

Please can you tell me where this flight is coming from prior to my trip?
Thanks

strid,
MAN-BJV-MAN (TOM886/7) are indeed operated by an Airbus A321-200. The old short haul premium was basically extra legroom with a couple of extras, it was never like the long haul premium.
Darrren
Can anyone advise me what aircraft will be operating the following flights this summer?
BHX-KGS-BHX TOM7366/7
Outbound 28th Sept, inbound 5th Oct.
Thanks!
MarkusDY,
Another query for you from your extensive knowledge. Tom 2336 Man to Paphos next week. My wife read somewhere that people wanting to take a Nintendo DSI on boatd a flight were refused and they were confiscated (the nintendo not the people!!!!). She wants to know if it is OK to take one on board and use it during the flight. With the plane not having seat bakc IFE and her being a nervoise traveller she just wanted to know
Thanking you in anticipation
Malcolm
thank you darren, your help as always is very much appreciated.
A Nintendo DS is fine for use other than at take-off and landing. Just make sure any WiFi etc is disabled.
Darren
That's what I told here as two girls were sitting behind us on Thomas Cook flight to Las Vegas last October playing them all the 10 hours of the flight.
Malcolm
Re: Nitendo DS,
All airlines allow them however the new Nintendo DS 3D does not have the ability to disable the wifi on it/constantly produces a radio signal( I don't understand them totally) and a lot of airlines are gradually banning the 3D version. Thomson haven't caught on yet but I know Virgin Atlantic don't allow this version. As long as yours is not the 3D version you won't have any problems.

Could you tell me where TOM054 (Gatwick to Male) originates from please, We don't leave till 04/09/11 but I enjoy looking before hand

Subject: THOMSON AIRWAYS ... Q&As
Thomson used to schedule their Egypt flights earlier but found that scheduling the flights slightly later(9-11 to between 12:30-14:30) allows higher aircraft utilisation. It enables them to provide an early morning flight to Spain or France before the longer flight to Egypt that wouldn't of been possible before.
Is it a good idea? business-wise yes, passenger convenience probably not...

Thanks for the reply Darren, I appreciate your time. Just to confirm it is TOM6242 and 6243 I will be on. Also, just out of interest, why has the flight to Funchal been cancelled from Oct onwards from Exeter?

I completely agree, our plane had just come in from Palma, then parked up on a remote gate back in LGW at 2am - savings to be made everywhere. Thomson are not unique - TCX and Easyjet were all around at the same time as us. It's just another reason that I prefer to do long haul!

Lack of demand I would imagine plus the 737-300's are due to leave the fleet.
