Malchester,

A Nintendo DS is fine for use other than at take-off and landing. Just make sure any WiFi etc is disabled.

Thanks Darren

That's what I told here as two girls were sitting behind us on Thomas Cook flight to Las Vegas last October playing them all the 10 hours of the flight.

Hi,

Re: Nitendo DS,

All airlines allow them however the new Nintendo DS 3D does not have the ability to disable the wifi on it/constantly produces a radio signal( I don't understand them totally) and a lot of airlines are gradually banning the 3D version. Thomson haven't caught on yet but I know Virgin Atlantic don't allow this version. As long as yours is not the 3D version you won't have any problems.

Hi,
Finally, flight times - terrible - not sure why they can't schedule SSH flights earlier in the day?
Tired now!

Thomson used to schedule their Egypt flights earlier but found that scheduling the flights slightly later(9-11 to between 12:30-14:30) allows higher aircraft utilisation. It enables them to provide an early morning flight to Spain or France before the longer flight to Egypt that wouldn't of been possible before.

Is it a good idea? business-wise yes, passenger convenience probably not...

Thanks for the reply Darren, I appreciate your time. Just to confirm it is TOM6242 and 6243 I will be on. Also, just out of interest, why has the flight to Funchal been cancelled from Oct onwards from Exeter?

I completely agree, our plane had just come in from Palma, then parked up on a remote gate back in LGW at 2am - savings to be made everywhere. Thomson are not unique - TCX and Easyjet were all around at the same time as us. It's just another reason that I prefer to do long haul!

Lack of demand I would imagine plus the 737-300's are due to leave the fleet.

Trod,

The aircraft operating LGW-MLE-LGW (TOM054/5) doesn't have a flight immediately before it, it day-stops after coming in from Sanford (TOM046/7) early morning. I'll be joining you over their 3 days later!

Is it not an A320 at Exeter?

Sorry, Yes. I don't know why I put a 733, probably because ones just flew over the top of me!

flash7650,

LGW-DLM-LGW (TOM408/9) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). This type has screens above the isles. IFE will be released at the beginning of July and I'll update the link from our What Aircraft? guide when I get it.

Hi,

Just wondered where aircraft is coming in from? We are travelling to Puerto Plata from Gatwick flight number TOM038 on 4th July.

Is it ex-First Choice or ex-Thomsons aircraft?

Thanks

LGW-POP-LGW (TOM038/9) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. The aircraft operates to Cancun (TOM022/3) before.

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone could confirm what version of the 767-300/ER the TOM104 MAN-CAN is? and if this aircraft is an ex-first choice or not? We have prebooked premium seats 3A,3B + 4A,4B and just wanted to make sure we were happy with. We pre-booked these over the phone, but when we received our email from Thomson that we could now reserve our seats online, as we had already done so over the phone we could not get it up and so are still unaware of the flight layout.

If someone could confirm what version 767 it will be that wud be great!

Thanks!
