Hi there I am new to the forum and was wondering, please can anyone help me, we normally book our own diy holidays, but, this year have booked an all inclusive deal with First Choice/Thomson holiday to Cancun from Gatwick on 16th August 2011, the flight number is TOM074 can anyone tell me which type of aircraft we will be flying on, as we prebooked our seats already as we were hoping to get some leg room ..!! but when looking at the seat booking chart the seat formation was 2,3,2, which seems like a pretty small aircraft for a non stop flight- or am I missing something??
Can anyone help me out and tell which type of plane Edinburgh - Majorca - Edinburgh, flights TOM 1674 dep 07.40 / Tom 1675 dep 12.30, we will be flying in. I know it is Thomson but thats it. Thank you x.

I don't think they are listed yet, I looked at the link last night at they were only listed for May & June. I was am looking for September.
I was looking for the IFE for August also, but noticed it is up yet.

IFE is changed 3 times per season, ie every 2 months. The current list is for May / June. The next 2 months is July / August. The listing won't be released until the beginning of July. I'll update the link on the What Aircraft? guide when I get it at the beginning of July. The following 2 month period is September / October. I'll update the listing at the beginning of September once it's released. Winter periods are November / December, January / February and March / April. Details aren't known until they are released at the beginning of each 2 month period.

Welcome onboard

LGW-CUN-LGW (TOM074/5) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including aircraft and cabin photos plus seat maps and IFE. The aircraft is a wide bodied twin jet so even though it's 'only' 2-3-2, it's still has a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 186,900kg, has an endurance of 11.25 hours or approximately 5,900 miles with a full passenger load (13 hours / 6,800 miles when empty), a wing span of 47.6m and a length of 54.9m!! It's a pretty big aircraft although not jumbo sized. The medium density configuration means you get more room than the higher density configured aircraft such as those used on short and medium haul flights.

EDI-PMI-EDI (TOM1674/5) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. Flights are currently operated for Thomson Airways by Astraeus using the same aircraft type and configuration (G-STRW) so don't be surprised if it doesn't have Thomson's livery.

We're flying to Dalaman from Gatwick (16:20) on 9th Aug. Does anyone know what the meal will be as there's a lot of us going & we're not sure whether to book them or not

Many thanks

It's normally chicken or beef with vegetables and potatoes in a sause but it does change from time to time. BY-TOM-AMM-FCA might be able to give you a more accurate update.

Thanx Darren - answer, as always, appreciated.
The "meal" was repulsive noodles for starters, followed by 2 boiled sausages with smash with green bits in it, followed by a piece of cake that wasn't bad. This meal was very poor. Whatever happened to the decent meals we used to have on Air 2000? Buck's fiz for breakfast and a hot towel to clean up.
Not wanting to be too critical but why when going on holiday are people so concerned which film is showing. You can't watch them properly anyway. What's wrong with books?

To help pass the time while on the flight? I actually quite enjoy watching a film on the flight, providing it's a good one with a story. It's a good way of keeping youngsters entertained too. Roll on September when there'll be enough time for at least 3 during the 11 hour overnight flight! There won't be the option of watching a film on short haul from November (or meals) so books it'll have to be.

Soon people won't be able to complain about meals but I for one will be glad because people still expect gourmet food really!

I flew Premium last Nov/Dec I actually thought the meal was pretty good - pleasantly surprised.
A nice film is good to watch, I don't want to read for 10 hours.
Off the top of my head its BBQ chicken(cant remember what its served with-mash/potatoes etc..) on the way out(providing the flight is after 10am and the same old Sausage and Leek Mash on the way home.
Flying to Mombasa from LGW on 10th October - TOM 076 returning 25th Oct on TOM 077 - Is this normally an ex FCA plane or Thomson aircraft??
Could you tell me if TOM676/677 17/09/11 24/09/11 NCL PUJ NCL is a former first choice or thomson plane please (choosing seats soon)
Have I read you are going away soon? anywhere nice??
Many thanks, Deana

will take a look at the aircraft guide, sounds like we wont be as cramped up as i thought then
