britabroad,
Row 35 is fine. I would prefer a screen 2 or 3 rows in front as if you have the screen right in front you you, you have to look up all the time and it gives you neck-ache after a while!
Darren
thanks , I will take your advice as always......
Do you know what the short haul IFE is at all please? I am on TOM6242/6243 on 12 & 19 July.
Thank you very much.
I only have the long haul at the moment. It'll be two from the list of long haul, normally the more family oriented films.
Darren
Thank you for the reply, much appreciated.
Both the 0715 outbound from MAN, and the 2310 inbound to MAN. Guessing it'll be a 767-300 but then again could be a 75.
Nick 1992,
I'm new but have been lurking around on here for a while now, very informative posts from yourself

Any chance I could bug you for some info, I'm a plane nerd and like to look up things before I go

I'm on TOM 568/9 on 23rd August, just wondering if you know what aircraft is operating this one? Where it comes from etc? I'm 99% sure it's a TOM a/c not FCA as I've already reserved the seats and it was in a 2/4/2 layout.
I pass the BHX apron every day on the train and on Tues mornings see it looks to be a TOM 763 and most of the time it looks like it's G-OBYD.......... but I know this can change.
Also, how often is the MAN tech (fuel) stop? I've seen it go direct but have read around that it depends on weather/ac/conditions etc, or is this not the case anymore?
Any info would be great
Al
Welcome onboard

I'm mobile at the moment so I'll give a more detailed answer when I'm home. Your flights, BHX-CUN-BHX (TOM568/9) are indeed operated by an ex-TOM 76W. G-OBYD is the long haul ex-TOM aircraft so should be operating your flight. The aircraft operates BHX-SFB-BHX (TOM630/1) the day before. Fuel stops, if reqired add an hour to the flight. It's due to BHX's runway not being long enough to allow the aircraft to take-off with the required fuel to make it all the way to CUN, so it used to stop in MAN to brim the tanks. However, the additional performance gained by the addition of blended winglets has offset this so now operates non-stop. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
EDIT: additional information added.
Darren
Cheers for the info, it's nice to be able to speak to someone in the know.
I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes.

Do you know what version of the 767-300 flight MAN - Cancun is? I'm just wondering as the seating plans for V1 and V2 are different, and as we are in row 2 on the AB it will mean we have the wall in front of us compared to the V2. I'm just concerned as, I have previously sat by the toilets before and found that passengers continually queuing beside me became annoying after a while on a 9 hour flight, so I don't know if anyone knows what side the door to this toilet may is it in the aisle or by the exit door.
If the aircraft is a V2 767 then I'm sure there's nothing to worry about as the toilet is further away.
Thanks in advance.
am new here so be gentle LOL. We're lucky enough to be off to Florida on October 7th flying Glasgow to Sanford. We've treated ourselves to PE (there's me, DH, DD 4, DS will be 13 months so no seat, my mum, my brother and my 14 yo niece) I am approaching my 90 days and will be calling to book seats, I am wondering if you could let me know what plane I'll be on and any recommendations for which seats to ask for, I'm thinking 3 rows of 2 so we have windows. Any advice much appreciated

I'm so excited

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information as there are several flights to Cancun. There are 5 V2 configured ex-FCA 767's and 1 V1 configured so chances are, it'll be a V2. It's imposable so say which as they are swapped and changed weekly.
Darren
Sorry Darren, totally forgot to put them in, would be helpful wouldn't they lol
Welcome onboard

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information as there are two flights. This ensures we get the correct information for you. Assuming you're on the GLA-SFB-GLA (TOM796/7), they are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (winglets) in the long haul configuration (283 seats). You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Seating is personal preference. All seats offer the same basic facilities other then the front row that have a little extra legroom, so it's whatever you prefer really.

Please can you tell me if its ex firstchoice or ex Thomsonfly?? Have flown in PC with EX TOM never FCA. would like to experience it before it all changes. lol...
MAN-VRA-MAN (TOM172/3) is a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. There are no plans that I know of to change PE on these aircraft.
Darren
Tis the time of year to call upon your ever increasing knowledge!

Do you happen to have details yet on the Thomson Long Haul Film lists for July/August 2011? (premium if you have them?)
Many thanks
love2fly

Back to Mexico via Manchester (assume they are still operating Ex FCA on flight Tom104/105)
IFE for July / August is linked from our What Aircraft? guide (link below). I updated it earlier in the week. TOM104/5 is an ex-FCA.
Darren
And also what time did the Glasgow flight depart on tuesday night / wednesday morning, as friends were on that flight and we were told it had a long delay
