pat,

The aircraft operating LGW-SSH-LGW (TOM536/7) should be operating to Palma (TOM4230/1) before your flight.

welshy0151,

All the latest is on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). It won't be operating long haul until November 2012 so you'll be on the usual 767-300/ER.

Getting paranoid about 767 long haul situation as my holiday in Kenya gets ever nearer - noticed that Man -Mombasa flight last night was on short haul version of the plane.Has another one of the long haul planes gone "technical"?? Really can't imagine flying for 8+ hours with my knees under my chin!! :cry

Remember, prior to 2008, this was the norm with Thomson and Thomas Cook, 2005 with First Choice. It's not ideal, but not as bad as you imagine. I've done 10 hours across the pond quite a few times on them and survived! Scheduled carriers offer a similar experience on a daily basis. All ex-FCA aircraft are operational that I can see but there are delays so G-OBYH might have been used to catch-up. All of the flights through July from LGW-MBA (TOM076/7) have been operated with the scheduled aircraft so no need to worry as it may never happen.

Just had notification that I can book my seats on return journey from Paphos to Birmingham TOM 7353 on 26.10.11, Thomson website seat plan is showing 2-4-2 config, but no availability on rows 1-8. Would be most grateful if someone could tell me what plane it is and if rows 1-8 are maybe premium seats? Many thanks.

Darren, yes I flew to the States/Carib in the 90s and earlier part of this century with the then "standard" legroom - but I was several years younger and not suffering from dodgy joints!! Since 2005 I've always paid for extra legroom (or if I have to) Premium because being 6' 4" a pitch of 28/29" for more than 4 hours is purgatory nowadays. Flew to Rhodes with standard legroom a year or so ago - they had to almost lever me out of my seat at the end of the flight! The other problem is that the passenger in front of me gets upset because it is physically impossible to recline their seat without crushing my legs!!! :duh
I'll continue to look at the planes in use so that at least I might have some notice if they change planes on us!

caroline davis,

PFO-BHX (TOM7353) is operated by a Boeing 767-304/ER (short haul / winglets). This is a change from the scheduled Boeing 757-200. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). There are no premium seats on that aircraft and even if they were, they are only offered as extra legroom, not full premium like you get on long haul.

hi im travelling to Puerto Plata 28/10/11 TOM 194 returning TOM 163, was just wundering if my seat plan is open because it's 90 days away and if so do you now wich seats should avoid i.e no windows?
thanks.

lbreslin,

Have you tried logging in to the select your seat section of Thomson Airways website? Officially, it's 90 days prior over the phone, 60 days online so it won't be available as yet online although it's sometimes before the 60 days subject to when the flights is loaded on to the system. You'll normall receive an email once it's available. Seating is personal prefence. Assuming you're in economy, avoid anything forward of row 18 and you'll have a window. Seating plans are on our What Aircraft? guide (link berow).

It should be operated by a long haul 767.

trasjohno,

MAN-ZTH-MAN (TOM2504/7) are operated by an Airbus A320-200 / Boeing 737-800 respectively. If you're flying back on 3rd or 10th October, it'll be a Boeing 757-200.

As posted above, Airbus A320-200 out and Boeing 737-800 (winglets) back.
