ukbill,
You are correct, yes. When you say block of seats at the front, are you refering to row 1-5? These are premium seats are therefore aren't available for booking unless you've upgraded. Many seats are pre-selected by the time you log in to the system. You can pre-select seats from 90 days before your departure date over the phone, 60 days online.

Daz im flying out on the 8th of march
I tried phoning Thomsons on Wednesday to pre book our seats for Cancun on 22 May in the premium cabin and was told that i can only book the seats 90 days from our return date 5th June. I asked if they had changed this as i could do the outward seats last October 90 days before and then did the return seats 2 weeks later but the guy i spoke to say it had changed and i could only do it 90 days from the return date. Is this correct information?
Thanks for your help.
Hi Paula, this does seem to be happening a lot. Numerous people have been told only 90 days from return flight, as stated on their website. Maybe they're just getting a bit stricter.
I might just try them again tomorrow to see if i get the same answer from a differnt person.
Thanks again
Paula
Hi Can anyone tell me which aircrafts are operated by tom508/9 bhx-ssh and tom732/3 gla- ssh flying out 1 march im booking my flight tomorrow and would much prefer aircraft with recaro seats if anyone can shed any light thanks
Specific aircraft are rotated almost weekly. It would be impossable to say if it'll be a 'green' or 'blue' Boeing 757-200 as it could change at any time. Historically, BHX-SSH-BHX (TOM508/9) has been a former First Choice (green) 757-200 and GLA-SSH-GLA (TOM732/3) a former Thomsonfly (blue) 757-200.

Sorry to be a pain here but you guys seem to have all the answers !
Some time ago we pre-booked Row 19, window seats, on TOM196/7 to Cancun from Manchester on 25th April .
We already know its an ex First choice B767-300er with a 2-3-2 seat layout, but is it possible to find out which version of the B767-300er our flight should be (V1 or V2) BEFORE the date of travel ?

There is no way of knowing if it'll be a V1 or V2 aircraft until the day before your flight when I'll be able to get the aircraft registration. You can assume it'll be a V2 aircraft though as there's only one V1 aircraft in the fleet (G-OOAN). G-OOAN hasn't operated the flight so far this year, but that's not to say it won't do in the future. The only difference from your perspective is having the emergency exit row behind you or not. The aircraft is the same on that row other than that.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Apparently our incoming flight to Cancun is TOM 166/7 coming in from Punta Cana ? Could this particular aircraft give you any clues,or is it still a waiting game to find out ?
No big deal btw.
As I mentioned before, aircraft are rotated almost weekly. As an example, G-OOBL, G-OOBK and G-OOBM have all been used at least once on your flight so far this month. It's not the same aircraft every week as they are moved between airports for maintenance and operational reasons. I know the previous aircraft movements to your flight and therefore will know the aircraft the day before once it's operating your incoming flight, barring any last minute changes.

Darren can you help again please - I am on a Thomson flight in June TOM 4550 - which is likely to be a 737-300 - and I can get to select my seat soon (I've paid extra for the extra leg room seats) - I have looked on the seat plans.com and it states rows 12 and 13 are the exit rows, which is the middle of the plane surely both can't be ? it's hard to figure out which is the extra leg room seats

Hi Miss Pink,
I know you asked Darren for help but maybe I can too...
The 737-300 does indeed have extra ''space'' seats on rows 12 and 13. However, row 12 is configured at only 4 abreast. These are 12B,C D,E - a set of two seats each side of the aisle rather than the usual 3 seats (6 abreast) for the rest of the aircraft. This means that seats 13A and seat 13F directly behind are the only two in this area with truly extra legroom! ...
As you will be travelling in June though, the last two remaining 737-300 aircraft will have left the Thomson Airways fleet by then so I would expect you will be travelling on a 737-800 aircraft.

Thank you very much aidoair, I should get notifcation soon on the booking a seat so I guess I will know then, so just in case it stays at the 737-300 and to be clear in my head extra legroom option would be best on the two seater option and 13A window or 13F is that right?
You'll find a seating plan for all TOM aircraft linked from out What Aircaft? guide (link below) with exit (extra legroom) rows indicated. Rows 12 is the overwing exit row on the 733 with 13A/F due to trow 12 being in pairs, both 12 and 13 have windows. I would agree with aidoair though, the 733's are leaving the fleet in May so it's more likely you'll be on the larger and newer Boeing 737-800. Overwing exits are rows 15 and 16.
Darren
Thanks Darren
