Just a question about hand luggage. On the back page of our confirmation it say's 5kg per person hand luggage, but it say's certain airlines are different so best to check. Just printed out our e-tickets and it say's 1x5kg hand luggage only, it sounds like we can only take 1 piece of hand luggage for the whole party :que

Is there any reason why I can't take a small knife in our suitcase. We are half board but want to take vegetable peeler and a small knife so I can prepare fruit e.t.c for the baby. Thanks in advance.

Marlou,

Standard hand luggage allowance is 5kg each. Details are on Thomsons website. You can take a small knife in your suitcase, but not in hand luggage. Be careful what sort of knife it is, don't go too mad!

Marlou - I'm not 100% but I'm sure that you can take a knife in your hold luggage. Thomson website clearly state 5kg cabin luggage per person, but I'm wondering as the baby has a 10kg cabin allowance, the total allowance for the 3 of you is still 15kgs, which is what you'd have had as 3 separate 5kgs :que

Right so I'll pack a small kitchen knife in the hold luggage then as that doesn't seem to pose a problem. We won't have much hand luggage for ourselves anyway as with a 6 month old I can't see any one of us reading or doing a cross word puzzle :rofl I'll pack the baby changing bag and put our travelling documents in that then problem solved. The less we have to carry the better :tup Thanks Dazbo.

Marlou - 10kgs is a good weight for the baby's hand luggage. You'll get a lot of stuff into a cabin sized back pack which we have here. You will still be able to take another cabin sized case/bag onboard, which will hold quite a lot.

10Kg is the baby's hold luggage not cabin luggage helent.

Sorry- I thought a baby under 2 didn't have a hold luggage allowance!

welshy0151,

MAN-CUN-MAN (TOM196/7) are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER. It's normally a former First Choice aircraft, but if you check back in May, we'll let you know. We can't comment on load factors, reasons here.

Hi Darren any news on aircraft, not long now

barjiash,

MAN-DLM-MAN (TOM308/9) are operated by Boeing 757-200 until 29th September, then Boeing737-300 from 6th October until the end of the month. Only G-OBYG (76W) has the new livery at the moment.

Seating is the same as the ex-FCA 757-200's so not much different really and the ones remaining in the fleet were late-builds so of similar age to other aircraft in the fleet. None have IFE installed so from a passengers perspective, there's little difference. I thought the 733's were long gone (last one retired on 29th April 12) but that's what the schedule is showing. Don't be surprise to find a 738 waiting for you, it could be a typo on the schedule.

Dazbo.....!

Hope your right about the "Typo" ......? Will find out in 70 ish days when i pre-book the seats as the 737-800 has more rows......I think....? The 737-800 is a nice plane to fly on.....! Fingers crossed...!

Thank's again..... Ash....... :cheers

I thought the 737-300's had gone too Dazbo, but noticed one flying on Tuesday from Manchester, I think to Kefalonia. Whether TOM2412 (MAN-EFL) will change in the next few weeks.

On Jethros it seems to suggest one is going 29 May, G-THOO (coincidentally a new 737-800 is due tomorrow), but G-THOP it seems to suggest is staying for now. On another website though, it says it is currenlty stored since March. Was hoping that they'd all be gone by the start of this summer season when the new 737-800s came in to replace them.

There's no 733's showing on the fleet bases for summer 2012, they should have all retired by now so I think it was just a typo on the schedule I have.
