Hi sunadict ....... thank you.
Like me, they don't book their seats online but book them direct with the airline. We fly our to Cancun 4 weeks earlier and I booked our outbound flights last Monday, but will have to phone back on the 11th JUne to book the inbound seats. At the moment, our outbound is on a 767-300 V1, so I'm assuming their will be the same ..... just wanted to check.
Regards,
Pat

Selecting your seats online via the online seatplan is still choosing your seats directly with the airline. You can choose your seats online or phone up and do it. Either way you are still booking them directly with the airline.

Hi athertona2K,
Yes I realise that. However, I've also found that if I book my seats directly with the airline, I've always been able to do so before the 90 period comes into effect ...... this year 2 days earlier and getting the actual seats I want. Also, they sent me email confirmation of my seat numbers which I show as check in as proof of booking them and the date I booked them.
Regards,
Pat

Phoning the airline doesn't mean you can book them earlier. They have to wait for the flight to be loaded before they can book seats. Once it is loaded it appears online, and you still get confirmation of seat booking.
Hi sunadict,
Just checked our paperwork ..... the 30th May would have been 90 days before out outbound flight. I phoned through on the 29th ( 1 day earlier) to be told that the seats for our flight were loaded and I could book them, which I did, and received the email confirmation through with 2 mins.

Pat

I just wish Thomson Airways would make up thier minds I booked seats direct with the airline for Cancun in March this year we could only book the outbound flight and had to wait 14 days for inbound. Now it seems you can book both providing the flight is loaded on the system. On Thomson Holidays it say 90days from your inbound flight, left hand and right hand comes to mind.
Pat, whether you ring the airline or go online, you can book them if the seat plan is loaded, whether that's 90 days, or earlier or later. Both have access at the same time, and the same procedures are followed. Last time I booked mine, I checked the seat plan was loaded online, rang the airline to book them (only because I wanted a question answering) and I spoke to two different people who both told me the plan wasn't loaded. I just booked them online instead.
qatatman, it seems to depend on who you speak to if you ring the airline. Some operators will let you book both if the plans are loaded, others won't, and then there are the one's that just give out totally wrong information. There doesn't seem to be any consistency about it at the moment.

Does anyone know whats happening with the SH 767 fleet (how many are operating short haul). Its just yesterday there was G-OBYD,F,G and H operating SH and also SE-RFS (a TUIfly Nordic a/c). I cant remember them having this many on SH last year - is it going to be like this all summer or was this a one off?
Plus, if its not a one off, is G-OBYG still in LH configuration and is the TUIfly plane in the same SH layout as the Thomson planes?

Hi Sunaddict i think they make it up as they go along??. Will try on Wednesday for our seats to Cyprus.
G-OBYG was returned to short haul config last week. SE-RFS is indeed operating for TOM, this should be still in the LH config.
Pat,
LGW-CUN-LGW (TOM022/3) are indeed operated by former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. It's impossable to know this far out the exact aircraft on that route. The only V1 aircraft is G-OOAN, the other 5 are V2 so you can assume it'll be a V2. There are only a coule of rows that differ so it doesn't make a lot of difference.

All the information is on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). I can't post the seat map for copyright reasons (see your pm's though).

Tried to book seat numbers this AM 89 days prior to departure 1st call to Thomson Airways Indian Call Centre."please call back on the 18th June seating plan not loaded yet".
2nd Call This time a lady at the Indian call centre " can you call back Thursday or Friday as seat plan not loaded yet"
Listened to Thomson Airway message "you can book your seat numbers 90day Prior to your departure" Nearly as hard as winning the lottery.Trying to book a seat by number.
So it seems it depends on who takes your call.I will try again on Friday.

qatarman, I don't think I've ever got through to an Indian call centre. Are you ringing 02476 283046?
qatarman,
It's not a question of who you speak to. They can only pass on the information that is in front of them. As Sunaddict mentioned earlier, it's whenever the flight is uploaded on to the system. This is sometimes before or after the 90 days. I know it's frustrating, but you just have to keep at it. I find it easier just to check online rather than keep calling.

The number i used was 02476282828. Darren i know it is a lottery as to who you draw when you call, for our trip to Mexico last March the wife called 90days before outbound and booked the seat numbers but had to wait 14 days to book the inbound however a couple on the same flight who we were talking to managed to book out/inbound 89days prior to the outbound flight. As you say just keep plugging away.
Sunaddict,
Thank you for the number my wife managed to book outbound seat numbers with that number, she was told to ring back in a week and she will be able to book inbound seats.
Thanks again.
