Plastonia,

Welcome onboard :tup
You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including seat plans, aircraft and cabin photos. As noooooobs mentions, it'll more than likely be a V2 aircraft although they are rotated regulaly so it's not guaranteed. It makes little difference as there's only a few seats difference. All seats, other than extra legroom offer the same facilities so it's personal preference really. I would agree with noooooobs, avoid the first few rows from the toilets but other than that, it's just whatever you prefer.

G-OBYD which is the short haul version according to flight rader.

It should now be in long haul and will soon be leaving the Thomson Airways fleet for Arkefly as PH-OYD.

Ok that explains it then. I noticed the other day they were using FC 763's for short haul. I cant remember which routes possibly sharm. Have they changed any of those?

noooooobs,

No, all ex-FCA are long haul but covering on some routes due to aircraft maintenance.

i am due to fly to dominican republic in february so shortly i will be able to choose seats.
have booked premium seats but not sure which version of 767-300 i will be on.
i was hoping to book bulkhead seats but having just spoke to thomson airways i was informed 1A&B and 1 F&G are not available to book, thomson could not tell me if these were the actual bulkhead seats?

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information. There are several flights to different airports in the Dominican Republic. Your flights, subject to flight number, should be operated by former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. 5 of the 6 aircraft are in the V2 configuration and is the likely seat plan, but they are rotated regularly so there are no guarantees on the day. There's only a couple of rows that are different so it makes little difference. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including aircraft and cabin photos, seat plans and photos of the seats. These may help answer your questions. The bulkhead seats (row 1 premium) are designated medical seats and can't be booked this far in advance as they may be needed. Personally, I prefer normal seats rather than bulkhead as there's more room for your legs, but seating is very much personal preference. All the premium seats offer the same basic facilities so whatever you prefer. Row 9 doesn't have a window.

thanks darren.
i have looked up the various 767-300 and wondered if maybe we were going to be on a V1 i didnt realise there were medical seats although i wondered if seats 1A&B and 1F&G exist they might be reserved for crew.
we are on flight TOM154 manchester to puerto plata.

jhe,

MAN-POP-MAN (TOM154/5) are ex First Choice. They are sometimes reserved for crew on longer flights, for examplke Cancun, but not normally Rom Rep. As I mentioned, it'll more than likely be a V2 aircraft as there's only 1 V1 in the fleet, but they are rotated pretty much weekly s it's impossable to know this far from your flight.

the only reason i thought about booking bulkhead seats was although i knew there would be less legroom there wouldnt be anyone in front to recline their seat. but as you say more legroom in other seats.
seatplan opens next week so hopefully will know which plane we are due to fly on.
thanks very much for your replies darren

Row 1A&B 1F&G are not bookable as they are probably kept back for people who have babies as this is where they position the sky cots.

As Darren has said, they are medical seats. No sky cots on Thomson Airlines.

Is there any difference between rows 15 & 16 on the B737-800?

The only difference between rows 15 and 16 on the 73H is row 15 doesn't recline, row 16 does. Both have the same seat pitch on the over wing exit rows.

Hi Darren

could you please advise if any airlines have wide bodied aircrafts that fly from any of the major airports to tenerife south on either the 27th or 28th of december returning 14 nights later?

the reaosn I ask is because one of our party has a major claustrphobia fear and will only travel on wide bodied aircraft? He feels to confined on single isle planes (crazy I know)!

He is based in the Birmingham area, so traveling to Manchester/London will not be a problem for him.

thanks very much in advance and apologies for the vauge question

james 84,

You can check that yourself by doing dummy bookings to TFS. Try Monarch (ZB564/5) on the 28th from MAN.

Can I take a whole unopened box of contact lenses in my hand luggage! It's a box of 30 disposables, but they're all encased in seperate pods containing solution.

...Thats what my wife did ...or at least, since she has different prescriptions for L & R eye,she took ~ 18 of each in a rigid plastic case (used as the cardboard boxes, as supplied, are bigger). As said previously, she used to empty this out into a clear plastic bag until Gatwick security officer told her that it wasn't necessary. :tup
