gav008,
If that is the plan uploaded on the seat selection page for your flight, that is correct. I agree, the ex-FCA's are a nicer experience. I'll have the pleasure again in just over 2 weeks time.
Darren
Due to the current grounding and delays of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the leases of 2 ex-FCA 767-300/ER's (G-DBLA and G-PJLO) that were due to leave the fleet at the end of April and replaced by the 787-8's, have now been extended to cover the summer period. G-OOAN sadly left the fleet for conversion to a freighter in Singapore on 25th Feb. The other two are due for freighter conversion once they finally retire and the 787-8's are delivered.

Darren
Darren, presumably they will need 6 long haul fitted 767s for the season; if G-OOAN has gone which of the ex Thomsonfly planes is being re-rigged?
brewerdave,
I believe G-OBYD that was supposed to be going to Arkefly is now staying in the UK fleet, but that's yet to be confirmed. I'll post more when I get it.

Hey
Is thomson having some problems long haul fleet wise?
Just noticed G-OBYH is doing the Sanford flight from Manchester?
Anyone know why?
Thanks

Hi Darren,
I've just had a call off Thomson selling premium seats for my flights MAN-CUN in August and the lady said there were 31 or 41 - I can't remember but it was one of them! - seats in premium. Does that mean it is the ex-Thomson plane that people seem to dread getting and not an ex-FCA?
Just out of interest, are you able to haggle on the price offered and get it down a bit? She is calling me back cos I couldn't decide.
Thanks.

Thanks in advance.

z.j.c - G-OOBL was in Cardiff this morning when I drove past, having returned from Barbados - flew back to Manchester but too late for Sanford outbound
cagzy,
It's too early to say the exact aircraft that will be operating in August with the 787-8 debacle still ongoing. 31 seats would suggest an ex-TOM is planned, there are no long haul aircraft currently configured with 41 premium seats, it's 31 or 63 currently. It's always worth haggling with anything, but I doubt it'll work at the moment.

jmac,
MAN-FUE-MAN (TOM2300/1) should be operated by Boeing 757-200, possibly Boeing 737-800. I'll know from May. It's normally an Airbus A321-200 but the remaining aircraft is leaving the fleet this month.

Hi Darren
Do you know if these have been reconfigured back to 33"leg room.
Due to fly on 787 but I don't think it's going to and would hate to have to deal with the short haul legroom.
Thanks

z.j.c,
They should be but in order to cover the number of passengers expected on the 787-8 on any flights they cover, there's going to have to be a shuffle in seat numbers so things may have to change.

Thanks for reply Darren.
It was 31 seats that she said.
Ah well!
I'm currently looking at seats AB in row 6, 10 or 32 - what do you think?!
Row 6 looks like slightly more legroom??
Rows 10 and 32 don't have seats right behind so won't feel bad about reclining (I stress about annoying people behind!), although they are near toilets.
Also, if I do end up going premium, is it just not as good on an ex-TOM compared to ex-FCA (which I did last year).
Thanks.

cagzy,
Seating is personal preference, it's whatever you prefer really. Row 6 is behind the curtain seperating the premium cabin from the main cabin. They have a couple of extra inches, but nothing major. The other rows are much of a muchness. Row 10 doesn't have a window. Premium seating is about the same standard between the two. There's 1" extra seat pitch on the ex-TOM over the ex-FCA. It's only the economy cabin with slightly narrower seats where there's a difference.

Thanks again Darren.
Great information as always - I wouldn't have known about row 10 not having a window.
Do you know how much narrower please and does the middle armrest lift?
Thanks.

cagzy,
Seats are only marginaly narrower, about 1 inch. It doesn't sound much, but is noticable. Arm rests lift although they don't on row 6 as the tray table and screen fold out from the arm rest with being the front row in economy. The seats are also like this on exit rows.

Thanks for getting back to me Darren, I will follow this forum closely to see what happens with the Dreamliner's & 767's thanks for your help.

cagzy,
Any of the exit (extra legroom) rows onboard the aircraft. There are seat plans linked from our What Aircraft? guide (link below) showing their position. It's the 283 seat aircraftyou need.
