Row 19 does recline (unless they've changed it).

It did NOT recline in January 2013 on the journey to Cancun on a FCA767, and the flight crew were apologetic but could do nothing. It's been reported previouosly by other HT members.
Row 19 on exFCA767s is the row from hell - if, as we had, you get the inconsiderate recliner in front of you.
Apparently because 19 is in front of the emergency exit, the air safety rules mean that it MUST NOT recline.
Maybe BY-TOM-AMM-FCA or Darren could confirm this?

Not able to book seats yet as they still have the 787 seat plan uploaded. Would of thought they would of changed that by now.

I believe once everyone has confirmed/cancelled/amended in the 2 week slot - we will be able to choose our seats. I have been told my refund will be made some time after 19th March so expect to see the new plan after that date. i am travelling on 29th June so not long to wait now :)

See Darren's post on this page dated April 15th.

May be it's just the 2s that can't be reclined?

I think you maybe explained it sunaddict
It was the window side pairs that I know did not recline.
So to qualify my "seats from hell" comment
- I suggest folk avoid 19A, 19B, 19F and 19G on FCA767s like the plague!

bugalug,

You don't quote a flight number, but LGW-SFB-LGW are operated by Boeing 767-300/ER. There will be 31 or 63 premium seats, subject to the aircraft assigned to your flight.

That's correct to avoid the seat backs blocking the emergency exit door when reclined. Row 19 C/D/E have full recline, I've sat in them many times.

In your opinion. I still maintain seating is personal preference.

seating is personal preference

OK - understood.
But I don't think I know many people who would personally prefer to sit in non-reclinable 19A/B or 19F/G when an inconsiderate lout in row 18 fully reclines for the whole 9 hour flight preventing you seeing the TV or accessing your table.

No you don't, there are 4 Tv screens. One is just in the arm rest :think similar to the extra space seats.

Also row 12 on ex FCA have the toilet doors opening directly onto them all flight. Ex-FCA are not the holy grail for holidaytruths that some members make out.

I agree that the ex-FCA aircraft are not perfect, but they are a much nicer experience than the TOM offering. The extra width in the seats and more legroom make for a much more relaxed journey, not to mention the shaped and adjustable headrests. The TOM seats, whilst legroom is acceptable at 31", are very cramped for width and if you have a window seat are so close to the side of the aircraft that the curve of the sidewall imposes further.

Heard tonight that Thomson are planning on Using a 767 from JetairFly to cover for the 787's however no seat back IFE?

Anyone know if this is true?

z.j.c,

That is what rumour is suggesting, to cover for G-OOAN's departurure. The aircraft aren't fitted with seat back IFE, they have Bluebox ipad systems on offer, although not normally enough to cover all seats. I'm sure the contigency plan will cover it, eg use this aircraft on short haul freeing up one of the short haul ex-TOM to cover long haul in long haul configuration. It'll be sorted, have faith.

Your flight will now operate on one of our Thomson Airways 767 Long Haul aircraft. This aircraft enjoys 33” seat pitch within the economy cabin and from 1st May we will be launching our brand new in-flight service across all long haul flights. This includes a wonderful new menu on-demand entertainment and other extras.

Hi

The above quote was part of the e-mail they sent me earlier this week. I doubt they'd have put out this kind of assurance if they intended on using planes outside the Thomson fleet.
Maybe they'll switch the existing 767 planes across to the 787 flights and replace those with hired help, thus upseting a whole load more of their customers.

Hi Darren,

I thought that may be the case to use it on a short haul and use one of the TOM's for long haul.

I wish they would let passengers in July/August know the plans now as its almost nailed on the 787 wont be ready.

When in long haul config the ex TFLY 767s have the same or more legroom that the ex-FCA aircraft. It's only when things go wrong at the last minute do you get a short haul 767 which has less. So really it's only the width which I agree is a problem. There is also only two window seats without windows on the tfly ones there are 6 on the FCA ones.

Just booked our seats for the trip to Cancun from Manchester in a few weeks TOM 194 .

Paid extra for legroom seats.

Offered seats together on ROW 35, Seats G & H on outbound and inbound as they looked like they are behind bulkhead with window to right. Don't know what the exact aircraft type is, but it is 8 seats across apparently in a 2/4/2 configuration and 47 rows ?

Still can't book mine even though 90 days have past and I can log on. It's saying no seats available and has the 3-3-3 seat plan uploaded still. Wish they would upload the 767 already.
