I've tried in vain to book my outbound seats today as it's now 90 days before my outbound flight, as I've read many times that if you ring you can book your outbound seats 90 days before that flight, rather than waiting for 90 days before your return flight, although it may be the luck of the draw as to whether you get someone at the other end who allows it, but I've had no luck at all and on my final call I mentioned what I've just said and they said that they no longer allow that as it causes problems - can anyone confirm that this is the case that it is no longer possible to book your outbound flights separately on the 90 day mark rather than waiting for the 90 days before the return flight? Or should I persevere?! Thanks.

I tried in vain most days from 90 days outbound, and every time I got through I was told they dont allow you to book now until 90 days inbound. I even tried the day before to no avail :(
Fortunately i stopped up until midnight on the next evening and selected the seats I wanted without any problems.
Good Luck with your seats I do hope you get the seats you require :cheers
Happy hols everybody

Thanks Lisa. Was it online you booked your seats at midnight?

Yes I logged in online. The seat plan was actually up just after 11pm, but I could not select seats til exactly midnight. It did mean I had an hour to choose before I selected, but as soon as it turned midnight I selected my seats and received a comfirmation email.

Good Luck

Hi all! I'm currently sat on my balcony in punta cana - due to fly home today to MAN. I've looked at flightradar24 & flightstats TOM172 G-OBYG was delayed by 2hrs. Anyone know why?? Is this in the short haul config??

Thanks
Gavin

gav008,

Delays are caused for any reasons from late passengers, weather problems, ATC delays, minor technical problems, late arrival or aircraft from previous flight etc. Your aircraft departed 4 hours later than scheduled (1329, not 0915). I beleive the actual cause was it was late inbound from the previous flight. Have a safe journey home and enjoy the additional few hours in resort. Expect rain upon arrival in the morning unless you can bring us some sun back with you!

Hello
I wondered if people can please advise me on what rows in economy on the Thomson dreamliner are extra leg room seats please? I've tried asking Thomson with no response. My mum and dad would like to book the extra leg room seats you see but as myself and my partner are travelling with our 5yr old daughter then we can't so were hoping to book the seats directly behind them. Also we have heard that some seats have less leg room, is this correct? If so does anybody know which rows they would be so we could avoid please. As its a once in a lifetime holiday we want to get it right.
Thank you

rhath,

Welcome onboard :tup
You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including a link to the seat plan that will answer most of your questions. Extra legroom rows are indicated (at the front of the two economy cabins, exit rows).

Hi Darren thank you for getting back to me. Sorry if im being silly but I don't get the notes at the side :que Does the L and R mean left and right??? I wish it would just say rows such and such are extra legroom lol. In your opinion who would be the best airline to fly from manchester to Sanford with?
Reply
rhath,

That's correct, L and R is simply left and right. The explanation I gave on the link gives more information on specific seats. As the aircraft isn't in service yet, there isn't a better seat plan than the one linked available yet. Which airline to fly with really comes down to cost, flight times, what you want from the flight / personal preference and if you want a non-stop flight or you're prepared to connect. Thomson Airways are pretty good, Thomas Cook aren't too bad. The scheduled carriers, eg Virgin offer complimentory drinks and more baggage but can be more costly or go via a hub. Thomson and Thomas Cook fly in to Sanford with the scheduled carriers in to Orlando International. Thomas Cook will change to Orlando International in 2014. One thing to bear in mind when flying to Florida is time taken to clear customs / immigration. At the moment, entering the US can take a while with queues reported at anything from 1 -3 hours at peak times. If you're going in school hols, Aer Lingus via Dublin is worth considering as you can clear immigration in Dublin and effectly arrive as a domestic passenger and avoid all the queues. I would just look at price to begin with. You'll get the most seat pitch on Thomson Airways in economy on flights operated by the Boeing 787-8. Our What Aircraft? guide will give you the basic information as well as our many airline threads if you have any specific questions.

Sanford airport, you'll be through immigration and customs and in your hire car within 40-45 mins max of touchdown. It can take upwards of 90 minutes at Orlando international just to get through customs, then wait for your bag, customs, put your bag back on the belt make your way to another terminal on the tram and wait for your bag a second time before even thinking of finding the hire car
Desk... It's about 35-40 mins from Orlando area Sanford airport.

Massive Sanford airport fan!

Hi Darren :) ,

Can you tell me what aircraft I'll be travelling to Egypt on:-

Man-Hurghada 26th August 2013 TOM532 and returning on 9th September 2013 on TOM533

Many Thanks
Dawn

Hi again Darren,

I rang up yesterday to book my outbound seats :sun2 (ELR) and was told that it's a 737 not 757 and the Exit rows are the middle 2 (Rows 15 and 16).

I have booked 15E and F, is there any difference between the 2 rows, better or worse. I read somewhere that Row 15 has limited recline but surely Row 16 would have no recline due to the row behind being nearer (if you see what I mean) :que

Thanks as always
Dawn

Nickymouse,

I can only give the information I have on my screen. The schedule I have is completed in April for the summer season so odd flights do sometimes change. There's not much difference between the 737 and 757 from a passengers perspective. The overwing exit rows on the 73H are on rows 15 and 16. They are essentialy the same although seats on row 15 don't recline as there's an emergency exit behind. Row 16 has the usual amount of recline. Both have the same seat pitch.

Hmm i've been looking at prices and Thomas Cook are looking a lot cheaper so may need to put up with the extra time at customs. Are Thomas Cook definately changing to Orlando International from 1st March? I don't want to book car hire and get the wrong airport lol. Can you book extra leg room seats for a child? It's letting me pick extra leg room seats for a child just not the exit seats but I thought you couldn't book any extra leg room seats when travelling with a child??

You can book extra legroom with a child, just not the exit seats. Thomas Cook are definitely moving to MCO.

A couple of questions for the clever people on here,
On the ex FCA 767 , can children sit in row 20 ? And does row 20 cost any extra .? And in the cabin are the seats slightly staggered (centre seats slightly behind the side seats ) or are they straight across,
Reply
Grahamy,

The age limit is 14 and above, yes it does, it's around £45-70 depending on route, they are straight across, depending on your party size I would recommend row 14 AB or fg these children younger than 14 can sit in. Or adults in 14 and children behind in row 15 or across in the middle of row 14(cde)
