Hi Darren, can you tell me which aircraft we will have
TOM 867 CUN- NCL Apr 22nd. Looks like an ex Thomsonfly. Any reason why they use this rather than the ex FCA that we came in on? Just curious.

Thomson Airways are to provide complementary drinks in both classes from November 1st and increase their IFE offering substantially to align their long haul product with both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways holidays.

It's probably the transition between the seasons and aircraft maintenance. It makes little difference really, both are comfortable aircraft although many prefer the 7 abreast seating over the 8 abreast. It's still the same IFE and seat pitch though. Don't worry about that, just enjoy your holiday!

But there are less Premium seats on the ex Thomsonfly -so there will be some unhappy passengers on the return (unless Thomson told them in advance)

seedy2, we flew out to Dominican Republic last year ex firstchoice in seats 3FG.
same seats booked for return flight. the night before we were due to fly home we were informed the plane had been changed and there would be no premium seats at all.
when we got to the airport we found out we were flying home on Thomson plane, we got to sit in premium seats we had booked, but anyone booked in seat rows 6-9 were seated in economy,
there was some very unhappy passengers even more so when the inflight entertainment worked for some and not others

Thanks for replying jhe. Had a similar scenario when booked Thomson premium a few years ago. Plane changed to a one with no premium. Knees up to chin. Very uncomfortable flight but it got us there! I'm a bit of a neurotic flier so like to plan ahead. Had a really bumpy flight out which doesn't help. I think some people won't know the seat plan, interesting that they're still offering flight upgrades in resort Will check that out. I hope we're not bumped. I know this can happen so I always book rows 1-5. Haven't spellchecker hope you can read it. Getting a bit hazy at the swim up here.

Re our flights on TOM144 &145 MAN-SFB-MAN : outward on 28/6/14 and inward on 14/7/14
The seat plans for our flights came online this morning, and we've now reserved our seats in Premium Economy.
The Premium Economy layout is 2-3-2 x nine rows.
Are you in a position to tell me more about this flight, please?
eg Is it Ex-FC or Thomson's what king of IFE any tips on where not to sit etc? (although half the seats are now reserved anyway since we reserved ours this morning).

Your flights are operated by an ex-FCA Boeing 767-300/ER as expected. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide including IFE details and screenshots. Other than the screen size, the IFE in economy is the same as in premium economy. The only row I'd avoid in premium is row 9 as there is no window on this row.
