To be honest johnny m, you'll have loads of choices of restaurants especially around La Carihuela. There are bars everywhere too, many with live entertainment and you can walk into Benalmadena which also has lots of restaurants and bars.
The Puerto Marina has loads of lovely restaurants and as you continue round you'll find a lot of jumping Spanish bars, like Maboa, Maracas and Metro and there is a whole plaza which is full of bars.
Mambo - big garden area and you lie on rugs and cushions on the grass and your cocktails are brought directly to you. 24 Hr Square beside McDonalds you'll find all the nightclubs. Most of the bars there do 2 for 1 all night. If you head up from the coast, you hit Bonanza square, again lots of bars and the infamous "Bunny's", a drag show. (Smoky inside tho)
