Thanks Les. Yes, I was thinking of short journeys, and anyway, they look like a good laugh.
You have not lived until you have been in a tuk-tuk!
I far prefer the tuk tuks they have free air conditioning.
tuk tuks are great fun and a trip on a local bus is a must as well
And you will have to try the free ferry over to Panjim, it is an experience not to be missed.

Free air conditioning? does that mean open windows

erm....some of ours haven't even had doors!!!!! Just a bit of elastic looped across!
They are great fun and its almost as much fun watching people getting in and out of them (especially after a few kingfisher) !!
There is a website in the UK which is selling Tuk-Tuks
I often look and think....have I got the bottle to ride round my little town in one of those.
Apparently they are selling very well in the UK as taxi vechicles.
I think deep down, I really want one.

They could be the next BIG thing in the Uk.....are they kinder to the enviroment?
Last time we were in one in Goa, I had to balance on the right hand side so the reserve tank could be drained to its last ounce
Nice driver....big hair - always around Candolim.

We saw SIX people get out of a tuk tuk one night
all laughing their heads off,
fully expected Jeremy Beadle to get out last. everyone in the bar was in stitches even the driver was giggling away, when he got a full round of applause.
allan.

Do you think them 6 people stretched it?
This is a serious question. How many passengers would be considered safe in a tuk-tuk? I use the word "safe" reservedly.
