We have been thinking the same - however weve decided to eat lunches in each day rather than going out - we love our evening meals - its such a big part of the holiday.
To be honest I still have found that prices in the supermarkets are similar unless you want "British" brands, you can usually find Spanish brands a lot cheaper - I would bring tea and coffee - and I have been known to bring those packets of pasta and sauce type things you mix with hot water - also cheese and "non perishable" stuff - however to be honest bringing a lot just puts your weight allowance up so for me its "buy cheap in the supermarket"............baguettes, tomatoes, cold meats, onions, olives, yogurts etc for lunches - and maybe a few of those "buffet Chinese places" at night instead of more upmarket!
