What do you eat the day before you go away? Do you cook or do you let someone else do it for you ?? 
After making sure the house is done from top to bottom ( not coming home to a messy house ) I dont want to start again on the kitchen so we either go out for a chinese meal or go for a drink and then order a takeaway normally the meal out wins What do you eat the day before you go away? Yep pretty much same routine for me . Clean house from top to bottom before packing and enjoying a takeway . Theres only one person who would cook a meal in this house and I'm not doing it after all that lot while the rest of them put their feet up . 
Well last time I went away I had a boiled egg because I had to go to bed at 1800hrs as we let at 0100hrs as I didn't want to eat anything heavy.
The takeaway wins for me too! Im normally dieting like mad before we go so its the start of my holiday 
Yep it's usually take out for me too - and might partake in the occasional lemonade too if I am persuaded
Unless we're staying at an airport hotel (when I class it as the first day of hols and have a nice meal) I eat as little as possible because I will have been watching what I'm eating and it would be classed as the last day of my 'diet'
It is the day before one of my jollies 
....just about ready now....we are going to the Toby for a roast meal later with friends as we don't fly until tomorrow afternoon......Caz

its takeaway for us as well!!! I will have done the house from top to bottom changed the beds and done last minute packing so a takeway wins every time!!! I cant be doing dishes and cooking the night before my jollies.

Happy Holidays Caz...
Our house will have been fettled...but only becuase Gav will do the bare minimum while we are away..until about an hour before we are due back then he will have a blitz and try and pretend he has been tidy all along!
Once I have done that, there is not any way I will be cooking a meal..so depending on what time we travel, we either have a take away or eat out...sometimes we are in the hotel the night before so it is a meal in the hotel.
Diet???????????

We are off at 2am and have just had a bacon and mushroom sandwich.
We had fish and chips at 2pm in a lovely fish restaurant.
We dont normally eat at this time of night but as our flight is 6am husband decided to make them as theres nothing open at airport until 4am.

We have a normal meal, usually eating up what is left in the fridge. We don't do any more cleaning than usual, which is the absolute minimum. I've never been able to understand the need to clean through the house when going away, why tire yourself out?

I admire your ability to resist this compulsion, Judith! I thought it was only me who did the pre-holiday clean. It's so when we come home, everything is clean, clean bedding and towels, plus we do all the ironing so work clothes are ready. I suppose it's an effort to prolong the holiday after-glow as long as possible by eliminating the mundane.
We always have pizza delivered the night before we leave to minimise washing up etc. Anything left in the fridge gets handed out to neighbours who are always delighted with our food parcels!
