Heather we have just got back from Egypt yesterday, the sun sets at 5.30 it is dark by 5.45 to 6pm.
I was informed it is dark by 4.30 at Christmas time.

Sunset in Nuweiba these days is just after 5.35 though the sun does go behind the mountains a good twenty minutes before that.

But it also rises very early. I was up this morning at around 6 a.m. today and was in the water snorkelling by 6.30 a.m. !

Yes it does get dark earlier, and Cyprus does as well.
