Also posted this on the Costa Del Sol board - Looking for some advice on where would be good for this holiday plan...
Good afternoon
New to the board - Looks a great site!
Anyway, we are looking for a family holiday next year - Wife and I as well as our daughter - Who will be 2 next summer, my wife's sister and her husband as well as my wifes parents.
This is what we want....
Golf for me and Brother in law
Lying in the sun and shopping for the 3 ladies
Plenty of walks/walking for my father in law.
We also prefer nothing to rowdy for nightlife - Done Ibiza etc in the past, prefer a few beers and a nice meal now.
Probably ideally a villa for us
Thanks in advance

HI Stweboy and welcome to the forum!

I would say the Algarve would be perfect for you all.
We stay in Santa Eulalia, Albufeira, but I think Vilamoura would be ideal for you all
You and you BIL get the golf, the ladies get the shopping and your FIL can
walk to his hearts content.
(It's nice to walk round the Marina at night as well as during the day - some fab boats there.)
Hope this helps.

There's good golf to be had in Tenerife - there's even a resort - Golf del Sur which has a lovely golf course.
Tenerife has fantastic shopping, and it's tax-free, it's not part of the EU

Yes, Tenerife does have rowdy nightlife, but if you stay away from Playa de las Americas you can have a nice family evening in pleasant bars and restaurants.
Most of the main resorts in Tenerife have a nice harbour and promenade area for walking.

To be honest apart from a few bars in the Veronicas area of PDLA, 98% of the nightlife is Playa de las Americas is not actually rowdy. I think its a very nice resort to stroll around with some extremely upmarket areas with smart bars & restaurants.

Have you thought about going a little off the usual tourist beaten track? The Costa de la Luz has fabulous golf and is much cheaper than it's more commercialised neighbour Costa del Sol.
It's got lots of places to visit should you get the urge to explore and is quite flat which helps if you want to walk!
There are fabulous beaches and modern shopping malls for serious shoppers or lovely spanish towns for those who like a more leisurely pace.
It also has wonderful restaurants, food and accomodation. You won't find rowdy nightlife, lager louts or english breakfasts. In fact the majority of tourists will be Spanish families but you will be welcomed everywhere.
We've had a villa there for the last 5 years and it seems to me to tick all your boxes.
