While it may not fit all of your requirements why not check out Agios Georgios north on the north-west coast of Corfu. It is a rather laid back, un-commercialised resort but is in a beautiful setting. A long and wide sandy beach in a horse-shoe bay between high headlands is the focal point. Behind the beach the rolling countryside of wooded hills and valleys stretches towards the centre of the island. There are just a handful of small hotels and no skyscraper blocks of apartments. You can hire cars, bikes, quad bikes, boats to get around but most popular is walking.

A popular walk is to the headland you see opposite in the top photo and the lovely village of Afionas which is famed for its outstanding views to the north and south. Only 3kms inland is the old hill village of Pagi. To go with all this you have the wonderful welcoming nature of the local Greek people.

That looks like a lovely place we're off to Agios Gordios in August- I love Corfu.

Hi there, it looks really nice, thank you. We want somewhere near a traditional town with loads of restaurants and preferablely some good day trips. It has to be somewhere I can book with a travel agent so not off track. There has to be somewhere!!
