Pretty beach side hotel with low rise accommodation. Lovely beach lots of sun beds and nice fluffy poolside towels . Small pool but adequate seeing as the clean white beach and blue sea was on the doorstep. Food in the buffet :Good choice but it could be busy if you went at the wrong time. Lovely breakfast and dinner on the pier but you need to book well in advance as popular. We had an upgraded room which had an enormous bed, lots of TV channels and a bath. Room kept clean and tidy by maid. Things pretty expensive so go all inclusive . water OK to drink. Don't expect things to run on time its a very laid back island.

We travelled as a family party- 2 kids, 2 parents & 4 grandparents (aged from 11-64 years)in April this year, fully inclusive with Virgin Holidys.

Having read some reviews, we were really worried about our pending stay at the Rex Halcyon Cove.

Thankfully, having been prepared by these earlier reviews for the reportedly dire accomodation and unhelpful staff, what actually greeted us was something of a nice surprise.

Yes, the hotel itself is looking a bit tired & a facelift is probably in order. We had 'superior' rooms which were rather basic, but clean & serviceable with A/C & TV. Whilst we have stayed in much better accommodation, we have also stayed in much worse!

The staff were on the whole a happy, helpful bunch- you definitely get back what you put in.

The food, both at the lunchtime bbq & the evening buffet was plentiful, varied & really tasty.

The entertainment whilst we were there was nightly- a mix of steel bands, fire eater & limbo dancer, reggae bands, etc.

The location of the resort is second to none- fabulous beach, of which I can't imagine you would ever tire!

All in all we had a wonderful holiday & brought back many treasured memories.

For an all-inclusive hotel it was dire. No entertainment.
Food was awful-no choice or variety. Same lunch everyday: Fried chicken or burgers!

Location was good the beach is beautiful, rooms were very basic

Will not be going back there very dissapointing all round.

We arrived not to be greeted by smiles and wiggling bums but sad and unhappy staff.

The first room was an upgrade dirty smelly rusty aircon double not twin contacted reception told nothing available to change to. The bell boy arranged for a change again sub standard 3rd room substandard returned to room 1.

Swimming Pool Green closed a child the week previuos had cotracted an eye infection we were told "should be Ok later???.

Restauraunt men told to wear collar shirt. No shorts waiter was filthy shirt stained trousers dirty. Little choice of food.We were all inclusive, the only half decent bar/restaraunt you had to pay a suppliment.

We are regular visitors to this part of the world and have used Rex Hotels in the past they were clean and welcoming standards high particularly in Grenada.

We were bitterly dissapointed and after talking to fellow travellers decided to move to Jolly Harbour
according to the Taxi driver people were leaving in droves. Upon reaching JH we found this to be the truth
there were at leasst 10 couples that had elected to move.

This is a very sad Hotel not one the Rex group should be proud of.

I had read some really appalling reviews re the hotel prior to leaving and was quite worried.

However, we were very pleasantly surprised on arrival, the reception was a good standard, staff acted quickly to get guests to rooms even though a large group of guests arrived.

The staff were very efficient and friendly. Security guards patrolled the hotel and beach to ensure guest safety. We were upgraded to a superior room which was clean and sufficient for our needs.

The pool was not up to standard, but the sea was much better to swim in. The grounds were ok, and steel band entertainment round the beach bar were very good, the beach bar staff were great too.

I imagine an upgrade is essential in the hotel as even the superior room was very basic. All in all it is a 3 star hotel.

The hotel was very well situated right on the beach. The welcome left a lot to be desired with not even a drink to welcome you. We had to wait to get our room key so went to the Beach Bar for a drink.

Upon getting to our room it was very well placed with view to sea and pool.

The beach beds were somewhat sorry and could have done with refurbishment.

A large party of 60- 70 arrived the next day and made it their job to take over the bar ordering rounds for up to 20 people at a time. This meant the other guests hanging around waiting. The reception bar didn't open during the day so that didn't sit well.

The meals were diaboliical and call a buffet what you will be it St Lucian, Bajan, Antiguan - it was all the same. The quality was not up to standard and starters on some nights consisted of cold meat, lettuce and not a lot else. Carvery nights were two wafer thin slices of see through meat and a request for more was greeted with a surly no. I insisted but although I got more it was very grudging. All in all I would have been better on a desert island.

The Warri Pier was a rip off and only ate there once - some guests even ordered in take-away pizzas which they ate in the reception. What sort of impression does that give to arriving guests?

We arrived firstly on a self catering basis and pretty much decided to upgrade to all inclusive straight away. It just worked out more cost effective, especially for the drinks.

Couldnt believe the first night we were there that the poolside bar was closed so we had to make do with the lobby bar.

This was the pattern for several nights over our holiday. We ended up bringing our own drinks and sitting down by the pool or by the sea.

The resort location was excellent but the resort itself could do with an upgrade. We had a superior room which was most basic to say the least, biggest disappointment was no fridge to keep soft drinks and water in.

The food was disguised nightly with a different theme but basically remained the same just with a different sauce. Unless you like spicy food there wasnt really much choice.

Only decent food was served on the restaurant on the sea but this was extra during the evening. We decided to hire a jeep for a day to explore the rest of the island and see what we were missing. The jeep twice broke down so we spent most of the day waiting around for it to be fixed. when we eventually got back to see the car hire rep we couldnt get a refund just an offer of another car for half day, no thanks.

We'd saved for quite a while for the holiday and felt quite disappointed on the whole. Definitely would not go back again.
