Bedroom damp ,crafts brilliant

Twin room small , water was lovely and hot shower powerfull, if you need more loo roll, clean towels ECT you have to collect in reception as no staff to drop off or clean rooms when staying due to covid .tho it's 2023.
Bedroom had damp issues and black mould on walls .
I even took to washing some off as the lady I was sharing with had inhalers ...

Food hall was manic and loud .it says restaurant but more like butlins self service canteen

Food was fair
Tho you are not allowed to remove food or drink from the restaurant .so I you want to eat in your room because you can't cope with noise or lots of people you can't ...

Craft lessons are good and easy to follow .staff are friendly and helpful

Swimpool x 2 are clean and never crowed

Great for families with young teens

Fantastic range of activities for any age from 8 up to 80. Not so sure it's good for younger children though. Evenings are very low key - I would have liked to have a 'teen club' or disco room available from 9 - 11.30 for 13-18s.

The decor is straight out of the 70s, but that just adds to its uniqueness. The food is good wholesome 'grandma' cooking. Very heavily loaded towards carbs and not much veg, no fruit on offer so very difficult unless you like salad to get your five a day. Think it's the first time I've ever had chicken in Thai red curry sauce served with roast potatoes or boiled potatoes and green beans!

I would say spot on for facilities, staff are great, not one sullen encounter in 4 days - but the menu could do with some thought.

We stayed here over Christmas 2006. Our main reason was we do not have a large family to be with over the festive season and very few hotels seem to do anything but provide food and possible music/dancing.

The Manor House Hotel provides numerous craft activities such as pottery, jewellery making, card making, candle making plus archery, golf, bowling, tennis and clays. There are 3 swimming pools and both a younger and older kids playroom. There is also a spa offering such treatments as massages, reflexology and manicures.

There was plenty of good quality food too. In short we were able to have a busy Christmas as well as indulging ourselves.

We booked to go back next Christmas before we left which, I think, speaks for itself.
