The hotel was very impressive, set on the hillside just off the main road. Reception was lovely with an open fire and comfy seats. Room was very spacious and bathroom had luxury toilettries and gorgeous soft towels.
The health club/spa was fantastic as was the outdoor hot tub, surprised I was brave enough to use it in February but we were blessed with fantastic weather. Staff couldn't help enough and the maids were really, really lovely and friendly.
Lancaster is a beautiful city with loads to do, but a nice walk on Morecombe beach was just what we needed on a lovely sunny day.

We read some of the reports and were a little disconcerted by some of them, but we need not have worried, the hotel was excellent and met our needs very well. We had a normal double room and not one of the suites but we were satisfied with that. Cleanliness was excellent, as was the food. Staff were friendly and most co-operative, we did not use the entertainment. We used the hotel as a base to explore the Lake District and surrounding area. We would use the hotel again in the future.
