This is a lovely small boutique style hotel and good as a base for a few days if you wish to be located centrally in the Lake Geneva area of Switzerland. The railway station is walkable giving easy access to all the towns and cities around the Lake.
We had two rooms, both very nice, beamed and looking freshly painted. Spotlessly clean with a good maid service. There was also good storage, a free safe and an expensive mini-bar, plus a couple of complementary bottles of mineral water. Lovely en-suite shower rooms with toiletries and thick towels.
No entertainment but large flat screen TV's with two English Channels, BBC entertainment and BBC News. There were also some film channels that had duel language selection controls so if a film was being shown you could switch the dialogue to English.
The breakfast room was pretty, all starched linen, shiny cutlery and flowers. You selected breakfast by completing a door hanger style card with different selections to choose from. This was a bit hit and miss for us and unless you go to reception and change your options you get the same choices every morning.
We had problems getting eggs cooked to our liking, scrambled eggs, omelettes, fried eggs were all underdone for our tastes and probably most British tastes. Hot drinks, yoghurts, cereals, muesli, fruit, juices, preserves, etc were all fine and were enough without eggs.
We didn't eat in the main restaurant as we were out and about all the time. Menu looked good but expensive.
The front desk staff were very helpful, offering maps and information/discount leaflets on the attractions in the area in a friendly and knowledgeable manner and are a real asset to the hotel. They wish you to enjoy your time there and your time in Switzerland and go the extra mile.
We felt it was a great base and would stay there again.
