We stayed at the Karavados in July 07. I am heavily critcal of anything as the norm but I must admit this place was great.
Food was good (same price as UK but Kefalonia's not cheap since the euro) accommodation lovely and rooms functional with air con in the high season.
You need a car as there is only the hotel and one taverna by the beach which is a hard walk and if your elderly the walk's not for you if you have any issues.
As for the hotel, clean, friendly and just our family in the pool.
There's no entertainment at all other than the bar.
A superb hotel on one of the best islands in the world if you like it quiet and undisturbed.
