This hotel has been considerably extended with a whole new building and pool area. Work is still going on to complete the work but when we stayed there was still much to be done.
Compared to the original building the new one is superb.
Rooms well appointed, modern and roomy.No fridge though !
Despite guests that have reported they have inquired when the new pool will be filled, and being told "in the next few days", it hasn't materialised yet.... three months later. Likewise the new sunbed area ( which should be superb) is just a bare space with the balcony railings being used to dry the laundry. Unbelievable, well, maybe not in India.
The old pool appeared filthy with building dust ( and probably the reason the other remains empty)and the sunbed area is in constant shade.
The hotel should, when finished, be very good but currently I would not recommend staying there if you are looking for a resort to use for swimming, sunbathing etc. It is a fairly steep walk up from Lighthouse Beach and not suitable for those with walking difficulties.

We stayed at the Sagara for 2 weeks last February. Great little place (apart from the steps)! Small family run hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Fairly basic but comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Excellent rooms, large and airy with ceiling fan and great air-conditioning. Huge balcony with great sunset views (through hundreds of palm trees & resident crows). Fridge & cable TV in room, and good large bathroom. If you want water/beers etc for the fridge, just ask and it will appear.
Tiny swimming pool up near roof level, having said that we were often only ones there, so no problem. The manager did show us plans for new pool at ground level, don't know if this has happened yet. Pool towels available if you ask.
Little open air breakfast room/restaurant on the roof above the pool, surrounded by palm trees. Basic breakfast provided, fresh juice, tea/coffee,toast & jam, but extras available. Lunch/evening menu looked good & very reasonable, but don't tend to eat 'in'.
