First impressions were very good, the hotel is very close to Bardolino town and is a very pleasant walk into the centre.

The pool is cleaned regularly and their are plenty of sunbeds available no need to reserve also towels are provided so no need to take beach towels. The pool bar serves nice lunches with very attentive staff who are very pleasant.

Reception was very efficient as was the housekeeping staff who regularly changed sheets and towels. A bowl of fruit was provided and topped up each day. The rooms were lovely however we paid extra for a balcony which on reflection was not really necessary.

All gardens and general areas were spotless. We were in the waiter service restaurant as opposed to the buffet style one. The food was similar in both of these restaurants and was hot and varied and very enjoyable.

We tried the Gourmet Restaurant which you have to book at no extra charge, it was also very good for five courses. Also at around 4pm. there is free coffee and pastries which was a nice touch.

We have absolutely no complaints regarding the hotel staff, the food or the situation. The only comment we have is that the clientele were very mature although this did not distract from a wonderful holiday.

The First Choice reps were very helpful.

The hotel is superb, rooms cleaned daily, and the staff make you feel as if you have known them for years! The food was amazing, we never went out at night for a meal because of the choise and quality of the food, one night I tucked into not one but three swordfish steaks, and cooked as only the italians know how.breakfast was just as good.

The hotel could'nt be bettered as far as location is concerned, a lovely five minute stroll by the lake to walk all that food off.

I am not one for watching people dance, but lots of people were enjoying having a dance to the very varied entertainment by the pool at night.

When we found on our first evening just how many people were repeat visitors (one couple come twice per year!) that boded well for our stay. We normally go B&B but that wasn't possible on our package so we were fully prepared to 'waste' our hotel meals and go out to eat in the town. If it hadn't been for the fact that our wedding anniversary fell during our week's stay we would not have gone out to eat at all.
The dinners were excellent - we recommend you try the Gourmet restaurant (which you have to book before noon for that evening) at no extra charge. We did feel the breakfasts let the place down. The hot items were very unappealing and nothing was freshly cooked in the dining room, as is common in a lot of hotels. As I don't eat cereal I had cheese sandwiches for breakfast more than once.

As previously mentioned, location and cleanliness are excellent. We found the staff friendly. Only experienced the entertainment from a distance but it sounded fine and was very varied.

I can only say that the Gritti and Bardolino are on our list for a return vist.

The hotel is in an excellent location just 10 minutes from the town and ferry.

It was clean and tidy but we found some of the staff unfriendly especially around the pool bar.Our other area of complaint was that only the 1 bar was open at night, by the pool, on hard plastic seats outdoors.

The entertainment at night was generally good and varied to suite most tastes.Even though we didnt like the two points above we really enjoyed our stay here and would'nt want to put people off going here.

The Parc Hotel Gritti is an excellent hotel about 10 mins from the town of Bardolino, at the southern end of Lake Garda.

The location is perfect - though it is beside the lake road the road is very quiet and most people ended up strolling on it! (you wouldn't do that in Italy unless is was very quiet!) The hotel gardens are right by the lake and very quiet and relaxing.

The pool is huge - at least 25 m long x 15 m wide. It is cleaned every evening and there are lots of comfy sun loungers by the pool. You are allowed to have a free pool towel from the hotel each day. The only problem we found was the usual 'towels on the sun beds' bit each morning.
The hotel has a good entertainment programme each evening - it is held round the pool / pool bar and varies from jazz singers to a string quartet.

The bedrooms are really comf - ours faced the lovely gardens - full of palm trees, and stunning plants and flowers. The area we were in facing the gardens was unbelievably quiet at all times - though the hotel had 260 guests we actually wondered if there was any one else there!

The room was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed - air con / a small mini bar that we used as a fridge/large bathroom. The tea and coffee was replenished everyday, as was the fruit we received as a welcome gift in our room (plus wine) when we arrived.

The hotel provided free tea / coffee and cakes every day for guests and nice little touches like a free cocktail every night as you enter the dining room.

There are 3 restaurants - a buffet restaurant, another where it was part waiter / part buffet and a restaurant that was just waiter service. It meant that guests could have whatever service suited them.

We found the buffet restaurant good but decided that you were best to go down early at about 6.30 pm when you could pick the table you wanted and it was quieter. The food was excellent - an immense choice - all Italian too! There was a huge salad bar (well 2), a choice of 2 soups or 3 pasta dishes for your second course, a choice of different cooked meats (plus traditional Italian vegetables etc) for your main course or 3 other fish / meat dishes, and finally a superb variety of puddings! (A real treat in Italy).

Breakfast was as good, with a huge variety - they even had sparkling wine and orange juice every day incase you wanted a Bucks Fizz !

The staff were very pleasant and there was a good variety of Italians, German and GB guests.

The only thing we noticed was that most people st the hotel were couples - it really isn't a hotel for children - many in there 50s - 70s. This isn't a criticism, just an observation. Many of them, however, were repeat guests who had been coming for years.

All in all an excellent hotel, one that we would both recommend without hesitation. It was interesting to note the many people who stopped at the gates to have a look around ... I had the feeling that it is one of the best hotels in the area.

We have just spent 5 lovely day on Lake Garda. The hotel was better than we imagined. The room was spacious, very clean and we loved the bath robes and slippers, we even had bathroom scales! Even though it was a big hotel it was easy to find your way around and it was quiet. The pool was a good size, very clean and there were free towels and loungers. Young children would have to be well supervised while in the water, as it was very deep. The grounds were tropical and pretty. The central garden area was a bit tired, possibly because it was nearing the end of season. The breakfasts were great; a wide variety of cereals, bread, fruit, cheese, cold meat, eggs, bacon and plenty tea, coffee etc. We chose not to eat in the hotel, as there was so much choice a short stroll away in the town centre. We spent part of an evening having drinks at the bar where there was Brazilian music and dancing going on. It was great fun and there was some audience participation going on!! The location was perfect, only five minutes to the idyllic town centre and close to the transport on the lake. The staff were helpful and friendly, always willing to assist with information on excursions and transport. We would highly recommend the hotel and Lake Garda and would love to return.
