Park Hotel, Casimiro Village, San Felice del Benaco, Lake Garda.
The hotel's location was absolutely stunning with lovely gardens giving access to the lakeside 'beach' (pebbles). The ferry stop was 2 minutes walk.
The grounds and public areas were rightly categorised as 4* but the 2 single rooms I had sight of would benefit from a bit of upgrading. The rooms were en suite (very dated) with hair dryer and had a/c, flat screen tv (v. fuzzy picture only),wardrobe with free safe, and dressing table. All, I think, had a balcony and gorgeous views of lake and mountains.
There were two relatively shallow swimming pools (approx. 4 feet) plus a large inflatable pool for the smaller children. There was also an small indoor pool.
The food was ok - not great but certainly adequate with plenty of choice. The desserts looked fantastic; loads of creamy things but also lovely fresh fruit - peaches, apricots, bananas etc. The meals were buffet style and because of there being several service points queuing was never problem. Wine, water and soft drinks were included with dinner and a free, light lunch was laid out on the poolside terrace daily. Free afternoon tea was also provided.
This is a very family friendly hotel. There were many families with small (lovely, noisey but well behaved)children because the schools on the continent had already broken up. I'm not sure it would be a good choice for teenagers or guests who preferred child free zones.
All of the public rooms and the dining rooms were air conditioned.
Towels were changed daily. Bedlinen changed once during the week.
