Hotel is in a very nice part of Malta but would be too quiet for youngsters who want to party all night long
The hotel food was very good and nice and hot. Carvery every evening
We found the staff to be very plesant and the entertaintment team tried very hard to amuse everyone There is some building work going on but they try to keep the noise down to a minimum
Please do not be put off by some of the reports of this hotel as i believe they are very untrue .Go there if you want to have a good holiday. Many people go there year after year. The hotel pools are kept very clean

Can't believe the negative comments about this hotel. My family and I have stayed there twice and found it to be a brilliant hotel. Not luxurious by a longshot but very comfortable and clean and the staff very pleasant.

The food, whilst being well cooked and presented gets a bit repetitive if staying for more than 7 days, and the entertainment is a bit dodgy, but aren't all hotel entertainers iffy?

The pool is cleaned every evening, and can get busy with locals during the day, but they are no problem and we always got a sunbed.

We are going again in 2007, so I would reccomend it to anyone.

Hotel is twenty + years old and looks it !

We hand a Superior room which was large, but under furnished.

We stayed at the back of the hotel which gave a nice view of Gozo but because of the large amount of traffic going to and from the ferry this room was rather nosey.

Food was average but of a poor selection and in some cases tables where not cleared.
Dinning room had been refurbished and it seemed rather strange to have entertainment in the dinning room when quests were still eating.

Snack bar was poor, we eat out for lunch all a time.

The surrounding area to the hotel was very very poor, no places of interest not even a bar or shop. So we relied on the hotel entertainment, which was below average.

Final comment this hotel is classed as a 4 star, but does not be compared to other 4 star hotels.

I liked the hotel very much, the staff very helpful. The food I thought was 1st class.

The hotel was very clean except for room carpets which could do with replacing.

The entertainment is not much to shout about.

The hotel stands alone so there is no other type of entertainment.

The bus service from the hotel to the rest of the island is very good and cheap.

I would definitly use this hotel again

Paradise Bay hotel - the cleanliness could do with being updated.

The food is a help yourself with quite a good selection.

The location is very quite but I felt safe there.

Hotel staff were very helpful as I was on my own

The entertainment was poor - Yes I am going back again this October.

I booked this holiday on the internet but after reading about the hotel on this site I contacted Mercury who assured me that the comments were unfair but recommended I upgrade to a superior room which I did (like a fool) at extra cost.

The room & view was in fact very good but not superior to what you would normally expect from a 4 star hotel anyway.

It was clean & well furnished however the public areas left a lot to be desired & is long long overdue a refurbishment, plus the indoor pool was being rebuilt a fact Mercury had failed to mention.

The food however was very poor & despite having paid for half board we chose to eat out most of the time. It was best summed up as school dinners at their absolute worse.

The general staff were in the main o/k but the reception & managers were self opinionated & rude a trait well practiced on those guests who were prepared to accept their attitude, I was not, & eventually gained some grudging acceptance that they were there to support me as a paying guest & not just an interruption to their chats & mobile phone calls.

The hotel appears to have a practice of taking locals as paying day guests which is fine but when you chose a time of year away from school holidays hordes of local kids does not make for relaxing weekends.

This hotel could make the grade but the public areas, food standards & management all require hard work.

Whilst I have read some horrendous reports about this hotel, I have to admit that ether things have changed dramatically or I stayed at a differentr hotel to the other reports.
The food was adequeate and varied but yes I did wonder why there was no fresh fruit available.
The rooms did feel a little damp but I feel sure this was due to the climate.(very humid)
The pools were excellant although they were not supervised but with the entry to the EU I am sure this will change along with a lot of other practices! They dont know whats going to hit them (poor things)
The situation of the Hotel is quite remote but we knew that in advance and wasnt a problem.Having said that there are now two hotels nearby to go to. Or better still take the ferry across to Gozo there are many cheap bars within walking distance(or staggering distance) from the the ferry terminal along with a romantic mini cruise all for the price of 2ml!!!!
Perhaps the restuarant staff could try to smile a little more,

I have stayed in the hotel many times in the past, but it seems to have deteriorated. Re-furbish work being carried out on 1st and 3rd floors, which we were not told about.

Food only adequate, rooms noisy due to building work and not cleaned correctly.

Hotel staff were eventually helpful but without a smile.

Entertainment very amaturish.

I don't think I will be returning to this hotel again.
