Room was disappointing

The room was passable, quite worn and the carpet was threadbare, but it was bigger than the Signature room we had last time which is an upgrade. The Signature room is much nicer as it has been refurbished.

The room was roasting even though it was -8C outside as the radiator was full on so had to open the double glazing. People staying at the Premier Travelodge said their room was freezing.

There were tea and coffee making facilities and a small TV.

The hotel still has some smoking rooms which is rare now in Scotland. There is free wifi in the lobby, but payable via T-Mobile in the room.

Bathroom with shower over the bath which wasnt great with little pressure.

Went to the restaurant. Hubby had haggis, neeps and tatties for starter which was very good then we both had rib eye steak.

Had to complain about a meal for the first time in my life as the steak was so tough I couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. At first they tried to charge full price, but I eventually got it knocked off the bill as I had only eaten the baked potato.

There is a shuttle bus to the airport which takes 10-15 mins and runs at quarter to the hour.

We booked this hotel online with Holiday Extras. Room only with up to 15 days parking was £50, but for an additional £25 it included breakfast and dinner up to the value of £17.50pp which we opted for.

Check in at 5.30pm was quick and we were allocated Room 119 on the first floor at the end of the corridor. The room was tiny with a double bed. We have stayed at this hotel before and had larger rooms.

The bathroom was average size with a shower over the bath. There was shampoo, bath gel and soap and the fan was really noisy.

There were tea and coffee making facilities, a 14" TV but no remote control. The secondary glazing gave good sound proofing with the airport being close by.

The restaurant opened from 6-10pm, the staff were very pleasant and friendly and there is an extensive menu. Sirloin steak is £15.50, fillet steak £19.50 and rib eye £14.50. Lager was £2.80 and a large glass of wine £4.50. Service was very quick. I had the fillet steak and it was OK, but nothing special.

As we were leaving before the restaurant opened for breakfast at 6.30am, we filled in the room service menu. This was delivered promptly at 3am. However there were no spoons for the cereal, no knives for the butter and no croissants as requested. We had cereal, toast and coffee which weren't great, but ample.

The hotel now has a large secured car park with CCTV.

The shuttle to the airport leaves at quarter to the hour and has to be booked at reception. The journey to Glasgow Airport takes less than 10 mins.

We will be returning to the hotel again at the end of December on the same package.
