Fifth visit to Santo Tomas and second to Mestral and Llebeig Apartments. Spotlessly clean with plenty linen and towel changes.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and had a lovely large terrace, ideal for enjoying a meal al fresco! Great kitchen with oven and electric hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave, iron and ironboard. Air conditioning worked well.

Hotel staff were great and arrived home one evening to find a bottle of champagne on our patio. (A thank you for taking a second stay).

Pool was also good, but we are fans of the beach and Santo Tomas' is great - turquoise sea, and white soft sand. We are already considering a return in 2006. Brilliant apartments in a brilliant resort.

Was very surprised with the hotel when I went in. It was very spaceous and clean. The bedding was changed every two days and they and the lounging area was very comfortable.

The hotel location was fantastic - we were put in a apartment which was right across the pool where the children spent alot of their time. The pool was very clean and warm. Also, the beach was about a 5 minute walk so that was brilliant too.

The hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Entertainment was excellent, we ate at the Las Dunas restaurant most of the time which had nightly shows, we saw flamenco dancers, the lord of the dance and the sailors, which were all very entertaining.

Would definitely visit this hotel again.

Went in June - it was really windy and the pool was freezing! Too cold for us and the kids. Snack bar food was expensive and not too good. Drinks prices were what you'd expect. Friendly staff though - they were all very helpful.

Apartments were clean and comfortable I have to say, but the AirCon was useless. Kitchen was a good size - bathroom was reasonable. SEen better. Limited channels on the TV. Fantastic balcony - lots of room.

We have just returned from a week at the Mistral Apartments in Santo Tomas, Menorca.

We were very pleased with the quality of the accommodation and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The self catering apartments are excellent value for money. The grounds are very pleasant and there is a very nice pool. We would not stay there again only because we would not holiday in Menorca again.

Santo Tomas, in common with the rest of the island is very quiet. There is virtually no night life and dining out is very limited (and also quite expensive).

What shops we did find had nothing to offer and were expensive by English standards, even the supermarkets seemed to us to charge quite ridiculous prices for most items. The two small supermarkets in Santo Tomas were approximately 50% dearer than the larger supermarkets in a couple of the towns we visited - but they were still expensive.

We hired a car for three days which kept us amused. Without this I think we would have become very bored. We were very fortunate with the weather with a mini heat wave on several of the days.

There is no entertainment at the apartments although the brochure says there is. There is a kids club and an adult "entertainer" who did try to encourage some people to take part in some daytime activities.

First holiday abroad in years. The travel agent recommended this resort and the accomodation.

On arrival the first thing we noticed was how clean and well kept everything was. The appartment overlooked the sea and was well maintained. With 6 of us we had plenty of room and did not fall over each other.

The towels and bed linen were changed regularly and the staff were all very pleasant and helpfull.

First choice were very good and all transferes went like clock work.

The only criticism is towards the selfish people who although told not to still insisted on laying towels on the sun loungers at the pool an hour or so before they used them. First choice state thay will remove unattended towels but I never witnessed this.

One of our party did in fact fall over and damaged his knee. The reception staff telephoned for doctor who arrived in 20 minutes. She refered us to the hospital in Mahon. A taxi was called and that arrived in 5 minutes. He took us straight to the hospital where we were greeted at the door by an English nurse who checked our insurance policy. Then a doctor checked the injury, had it X-rayed, fortunately it was not broken. They strapped it up, gave us a letter for our own GP, called a taxi and we got back to the resort in less than 2 hours. Now that is a good service.

Make sure your insurance is uptodate. They were not interested in the E111 but the travel insurance taken out by the agent.

Our apartment was very clean and spacious although we only stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment there was plenty of space for ourselves and our 2 young boys.
The location of these apartments were very close to the beach (approx 2 min walk across the road) and also close to all restaurants and supermarket/shops.
It would have been nice to have a little more variety of food between the many restaurants, they all seemed to offer the same menu.
I could not fault any of the staff that worked in these apartments all extremely friendly and hard working, my 4 year old son took a strong liking to Keeley who organised the kids club and took care of the mini disco. She is excellent with the kids and my son hasn't stopped talking about her since we have been home, he is looking forward to seeing her next year. She does a great job single handed!!!
Entertainment in the evening was really good on the whole bar a few dodgy acts. Must say the guys that do the Westlife/50s,60s,70s tribute were absolutely excellent.

we booked this holiday as a last minute cheapy and didnt expect too much. when we arrived we were very pleasently surprised.
the apartment was very spacious and spotlessley clean with everything you could ask for including ironing board!
the resort was also spotless and we were 2 mins from beach. the only negative was lack of restaurants and takeaways after 10 o clock.
we had 2 days rain when we arrived on the 7th of may but the rest of the fortnight was glorious.
we hired a car for 3 days to visit cala n bosch which is where we usually go.
all in all we had a great holiday, keeley does a great job , single handed, she does all afternoon and evening entertainment. she has a great northern sense of humour even when she went for a impromptu dip in the pool , fully clothed ,courtesy of my hubby, maids did a great job, plenty of towel, linen changes.
we all went home very happy after a great holiday

A BIG THANKS TO KEELEY, AND NICO FOR AGREAT HOL!!!!!!!!

We have visited this apartment complex 5 times since 1993 and are returning next year (2003). The apartments are set back from the beach, but with easy access (about 5 mins walk). The beach is lovely, very safe for children, and clean. If you like a stroll in the evening, there is a promenade (flat)- ideal if you have children's buggys or elderly people with you. The complex is set in lovely grounds with a children's playground and a lovely swimming pool, which is kept extremely clean. The apartments themselves are ideal for self catering, as you have a full gas cooker (oven and 3 gas rings) a large fridge/freezer and a very large patio or terrace to eat. We take our 2 children and their grandparents, and we all love it. The resort, itself is on the quiet side. There is a Supermarket about 100 yards from the complex, for the essentials, and a lovely bakery, a pharmacy and a Doctor (located in one of the Hotels). This is a quiet resort, there are only a handful of restaurants and bars so car hire is very advisible. We hire a car, and stock up at one of the big Supermarkets near Mahon, they stock everything you could need (including baby's nappies and jars of food). Having the freezer is very useful, we take a portable BBQ and cook most of our meals in.

If you like a relaxing quiet holiday (all of the bars close at 12!) this is the place to visit.

We do holiday at other resorts, but we keep returning here because it is perfect for us.

We arrived at the apartments around 8.30pm, there was my two children aged 5 and 9, my mother and myself. The weather was appaling at time of arrival with torrential rains, and when we was given the key to the apartment we were amazed to see no porters. We carried our cases half way through the complex then up two flights of stairs and was thouroughly drenched. The apartments were spotless when we arrived. It was 11% outside and we were pleased to notice we had central heating, but needed a key to turn it on, went back to reception but it was shut. (it shuts at 9pm) Went out to the shops (all 4 of them ) to get some milk and water for the kids but the shops shut at 8.30pm, I'm then running round all the hotels hoping one of them will sell me some milk and water.

After a freezing night in bed went to reception next morning to be told if I wanted heating I would have to pay 47 euros (about

Mestral and llebeig is the best holiday i have ever been on i have been there 2 times and am goin back this year! I have met 36 people whilst being there as they have been going as a group 4 8 yes 8 years! I have requested mestral each year as we all like the humor of the bar attendent Nico (who now knows each person by name!)Its great for everyone especially kids like me! Mestral has a great play area and last year we brought disposable bbq's and had a big party all 40 of us! It is v. v. v. hot in menorca and a refreshing swim in the pool goes along long way!I would certainly advise you to visit cala galdana son parc (somedays it is v. good for body boarding!)Also RENT A CAR as you can collect it from the airport and it is far far easier to get around and book one early as several people could not get one anywhere as all places where sold out!
Hope i have made a difference to your holiday plans......

Hannah
