we arrived to be met by Norman, the siesta rep, great fella for a Chelsea fan, anyway he put us in his golf buggy and took us to reception where we booked in. He then drove us up to our accommodation, which was a siesta four lodge, which was pleasing on the eye with great views overlooking the med, and quite comfy to boot, all you needed was in there, along with a tv that gave you all BBC channels, ITV and C4, but no C5 though, which could be a blessing.
The large pool area was very clean and well maintained with constant lifeguards in attendance. The supermarket is very reasonable with some great offers on and the bakery next door produced some lovely bread. The staff are all very, very polite and helpful, but the bar is a bit of a joke in the evening when entertainment was on, however, as there was just 1 till to run the bar, takeaway, restaurant and ice cream parlour, sometimes leaving it at twenty deep at the till.
The beer was a bit above average price, 4.50 euros for a pint of san Miguel, or a 7-pint jug of joy for 24 euros, which was better value and the shorts are an absolute ripoff, I was charged 16 euros for 2 single Bacardi and cokes.
The beach was great , with very good snorkelling to boot too, I really enjoyed it down there, and the train back was a godsend , especially after a hard day in the med. Platja d'Aro is a great little town with lots of eateries and watering holes, we enjoyed the cactus bar (all football) and a lively bar ideal for people watching next door to Johann cruyffs shoe shop, yes the greatest footballer in my eyes has opened a shoe shop of his own brand of footwear. we really enjoyed our stay in Cala Gogo, and a big thank you must go to Norman and Linda, always attentive and helpful.
The only downside I can mention is the hike back up to the lodge from the site entrance or the shops/pool area, it can be quite a tester in that heat and humidity especially when carrying shopping
