We had booked 4 days on Koh Chang and 10 at The Dusit Resort. Due to appalling weather on Koh Chang we bailed out early. Too early for our reservation at the Dusi we stayed 2 nights at the Areca Lodge. Be aware this hotel is right in the heart of Pattayas legendary nightlife and is "guest friendly" but we found it to be excellent.
Firstly it is great value for money we paid 1200 baht per night for a pool view room including breakfast. Mini bar in room without the inflated prices of other hotels.
The breakfast is excellent with lots of choice. Rooms were big and clean beds a bit hard for our taste but minor gripe.
Two really nice pools and very friendly and efficient staff. Nice outside bar area to soak up the Pattaya atmosphere.
I would stay here again at the drop of a hat but my wife just loves the Dusit. Also reviewed here.
