We went to the Tongsai for our Honeymoon and the hotel is absolute paradise, you are waited on hand and foot and the staff are always friendly and obliging. If you can afford it go for the Cottage suite which boasts the bath on a balcony and a large room and garden. We ate at the one of the 3 restaurants for half our stay, the food is excpetional and not too expensive considering its a 5* resort. The other nights we ventured to Chaweng which is excellent and food very cheap. We were told that Tongsai is the only Thai owned high class hotel on the island and it shows, the attention to detail was amazing (we particularly enjoyed the home baked biscuits we got every day in our room). Go there its amazing!

We spent part of our honeymoon at the Tongsai and it was every bit of paradise that we hoped & had been told :)
The attention to detail is second to none, especially in the cottages, needless to say the open air bath !
The service is incredbile as is the food in all 3 of the restaurants (most definately recommend the Butlers )
Breakfast is sublime & well sets you up for a day in 'lovers corner' of the private beach !
For entertainment, yes the hotel does not provide anything as everybody seems to retreat to their pad after 9.00, so head for Chaweng Beach and visit Christies Cabaret. Seriously, if your'e up for a giggle it's worth a see :) We went twice, you'll see why. Enjoy

Tongsai Bay is a fantastic location for a romantic holiday its very quiet - very geared for couples but close to lively night life if required. Accomodation is fantastic would recommend the villas each has a bath on the balcony - very private. The food & service is fantastic but as with all 5 star hotels you will pay more. However Cheaper alternative is available in Bophut or Cheweng a short & cheap taxi ride away - This was our second visit to Tongsai Bay and we will be going back as soon as possible. I cannot fault anything about this hotel. Transfer from the airport is about 10 mins but no aircraft noise at the hotel. The airport at Ko Samui is a must see in itself. Fantastic all round you would not be dissapointed.
