Riu El Mansour Hotel

The hotel was wonderful. The rooms were really nice and spotlessly clean. The food was first rate with plenty of variety. The "animation" team (entertainment) were amazing and so friendly, even if you didn't want to participate in the activities they still stopped and had a chat. I can't praise this hotel enough. We were, without doubt, the most important couple in the hotel. In fact, we were very special guests - and I am sure every other person there was made to feel the same by every single employee. It will be Riu for us, wherever possible, from now on.

I do also feel a special mention should be made in regards to the Thomson Rep, Cheryl. We have, over the years, taken holidays with many different companies to many different countries. Never, ever have we had such a wonderful Rep. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her and if there was anything, whatsoever, you needed or were worried about, Cheryl was your man!!

She is a fountain of local knowledge, having lived in the area for many years, and does everything within her power to ensure your holiday is perfect. So, thank you Cheryl.

All hotel staff very good and helpful, restaurant two sittings, 1st very busy and yyou had to queue early for lunch to be near the buffet,as you did not have a designated table, dinner was an allocated table for the duration, the Eastern European guests made the Germans look beginers where the food and loungers were concerened. Children were well catered for, adult entertainment was as usual the same each week. Be warned there are a lot of steps around the hotel and some iffy ones down to the beach, plenty of parasols, but thet are right next to each other and mattresses not the same quality as around the pool, there is no pool service until 0800.Although the hotel was ok i would not return because of the panders to non English guests, we were the only English there for the two weeks, we now have an idea why.

The hotel was set on the beach with a large pool area. The rooms were pleasant, with all facilities and the general staff were excellent.
Unfortunately this hotel caters for mainland European guests and of the 324 rooms available, only 4 were occupied by English couples. This and the behaviour of our fellow guests spoilt, what should have been a relaxing holiday for us.
Whilst the buffet style dining was well catered for, it could not handle the daily stampede. Despite notices preventing the reserving of sunbeds, the practice went on with certain persons reserving them both on the beach and around the pool. Complaints were made by all UK holiday makers to the Hotel Management regarding their sidelining in favour of other nationalities but were not acted upon
