We have holidayed in Barmouth since 1975 & having stayed in many various 'awful' local B&B's/Guest Houses in Barmouth over the years, this is our 2nd visit to The Sunray & we LOVE IT!!!! It's modern, clean, fresh & in a fab location with stunning views over the harbour!

Danny & Lisa are great hosts & we are very disappointed if they have no vacancies! Car parking space maybe limited but Danny ensures that it works OK. And as they clearly state, when booking, breakfast isn't included, but Davy Jone's Locker(1 minute down the drive) does the BEST EVER lo-cost brekky & you can saunter around at your leisure without having to be tied down to dining times! Absolutely superb all round accommodation say us & we will definitely be back time & time again without a doubt, in fact we can't wait!

Car park no room for my car owner asked me to move my car so he could park his truck.

No shelf in bathroom so had to put shampoo etc on floor. Kettle was corroded round lid an bits falling into water. Room was cold no heating, radiator not turned on. Bathroom was dirty looked like it had been wiped over with a dirty cloth. Curtains were hung with minimal of hooks an drooped when closed did,not look very nice. Wet towels were not changed on day 2 had to ask when we got back in the evening for clean towels. There is a washing machine outside rooms 1 and 2 which wakes you up in the morning.

The location was stunning the views were to die for Barmouth is a lovely town

I wrote a review on the booking web site and received a phone call from the owner shouting down the phone saying i am a liar.

I'm not a liar an have stayed in hotels around the world as well as in most of the UK and this is the worst i ever stayed in I even left a day early and lost my nights payment.

We stayed for 5 nights in Sept. 2006. Only on the first morning did we get a breakfast (good), from then on, we were on room only basis, although, we did get a discount from the tariff current at that time, if you need feeding first thing in the morning, as I do, then this can be inconvenient, there are no facilities in the rooms for food (only a kettle for drinks), your choices are to get some prepared food in for the morning (e.g. sandwiches etc - baring in mind that there isn't a fridge) or visit a cafe/bar that does breakfasts - there's a couple not too far away.

The room that we stayed in was very pleasant and clean with fantastic views over the harbour and Cader Idris, there is a superb patio garden overlooking the beaches.

In spite of the fact that it's now room only accommodation, because of location and quality, I would give Sunray great consideration as somewhere to stay.
