I've booked with loads of different companies over the years. Its very rare I book direct with one of the bigger companies.

I've used Co-op Travel, Travel Republic, Hotelopia, Direct Holidays, Sunshine Olympic and Onthebeach and not had problems with any of them although I believe onthebeach can be a bit hiss and miss.

Ones I can recommend are Direct holidays and travel Republic

why not try a DIY holday? you will be suprised on the qulity of accomadtion and the savings to be made

I have used Co-Op in the past and used Direct Holidays last Summer. I've also just got back from a DIY break so that is an option too.

Will work my way through the sites listed here and work out the best deal.

Direct Holidays are part of Thomas Cook, Hotelopia is part of TUI (like Thomson) so aren't really alternatives to the big companies.

Some of the smaller names only act as booking agents for seperate flights and hotels (making sure they steer clear of the dynamic packages rule) so you don't really have any more protection than DIY. If you've time to hunt around you may as well DIY.
