Can anyone please tell me, why all the UK major tour operators have pulled out of India , apart from Goa . We have been traveling to south India for a few years now in particular to Kovalam and have found that after April 09, there is no availability with anyone . We find the major tour operators offer the best value for money and that booking independently cost nearly twice as much .

I've copied your query to the India forum too where you might get some help 
I always understood that Kovalum (and Goa) were winter sun destinations. It's probably not that tour operators have "pulled-out" but the winter programme has ended in April and will resume in October.
