Have managed to find 2 weeks dormhouse package for £439 for next January and are considering staying at the rooms attached to the Gato Loco restaurant near the Elephant Shop on the main road in Candolim (the card we were given calls them Resort Villa Sol-areia).

On our last trip there in January we had a meal at Gato Loco and were impressed with the actual house so much that one of the waiters showed us one of the rooms downstairs. He gave us a card and an idea of price, which was extremely reasonable, and although I probably wouldn't want to stay in that particular room as it was a ground floor room overlooking the actual restaurant, the room itself looked really nice.

Before I send an e-mail requesting a booking though, I would just feel much better if anybody has any info, either from staying there themselves or from people they know who have stayed there.

I know that once we're there, if we're not happy we can always move but to be honest we go there to just chill out and the prospect of room hopping just doesn't appeal.

Alternatively, if anybody knows of any other places that offer good accommodation in a good location either Baga, Calangute or Candolim, doesn't have to be a palace we're not fussy as long as its clean!! then that would also be appreciated.
