Bansko Help ....

Hi,

We are considering skiing in Bansko next feb 2009. We've skiied twice before in Finland, and wondered what the ski runs are like here in Bulgaria? Also roughly how much to hire skis and boots and costs of lift passes etc.

Finally, recommendations of where to stey. We prefer to s/c so an apartment in a good location is a must. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

We had 4 nights in Bansko last Sept and really enjoyed it. It's built on quite a steep hill with the ski lifts at the top and the village centre at the bottom. There may be shuttle buses during the ski season but when we were there we just had to walk! We stayed in a hotel so can't recommend any appartments but there are lots there. For eating out, try the Mehana Momini Dvori on the main square(http://mominidvori.com/index_eng.htm) and also the Mehana in the Park Hotel Gardenia (where we stayed).
