Just to point out something about Skype. The person on the other end does NOT have to have Skype to call your Skypein number if you have one they can do it from a normal phone.

As for the quality of service I must admit this does go up and down but speaking from experiance I have not had any problems.

The Skype rate to call Spain is €0.017 per min as is the same rate to call back to the UK.

Skype to Skype call are totally free but as you say both parties must have Skype on their PC's. Another advantage with Skype is you can hold a conference call with up to 5 other people plus yourself even if the other people as talking to you by normal landline but you need Skypeout for that but not to talk to 5 people PC to PC just the Skype program.

With the latest version of Skype you can now send live video to the other person even if they cannot send it to you.

As you might guess I am an avide Skype user, and I think for what it is it is a very good service but each to their own.

Until now I've been using Telediscount, (0845 2449 449), where calls to Spain are charged at local rates.

However, I'll be trying both systems listed above as they look like they may be cheaper, especially if both parties are on Skype.

Hi there why don't you open a primus planet talk account off you home phone you pay in advance so credit £20 or so and when is runs out recharge its 3p and you are not charged a access code

you can then add in a mobile as well. It's the same rate as your given a uk access No so it is charged at national rate from the mobile company's. I've been with them for years they are one or the best and i think the cheapest the lines are clear and the quality is good.

Quality is far better than Skype I use both and I prefer the former by far. You can have both running on your system at the same time no problem
