Hi Taggy ... I will transfer this to the Camping & Caravanning forum in the hope of attracting a better response. If you have any additional information regarding starting point, proposed route to Benidorm, etc it may help those in the know.

90% of French campsites are pet friendly so should be now problem

if your mate has Autoroute then he can downlaod a set of pushpins for French campsites from http://www.jollyinteresting.co.uk/pushpins/ and find a campsite within in the area of his route to contact but AFAIK most take dogs, cats rabbits, ferrets as long as they are kept on a leash and well behaved,

Hi Madcarravanner - Thanks for that, unfortunately he does'nt have internet access at the moment, which is why i've put a post on for him. Do you know if any of the sites will be open in December. He was originally going to take his Caravan to Benidorm for the 3 months but has just been over and checked and the Benidorm sites will all be closed in December, so he is going to book an apartment instead.he told me, so maybe that might be the case in France too? I've never driven there myself so i cant help him. He's travelling down from the Manchester area, I dont know which route he was thinking of, but would guess he would be flexible, but would probably want the eaisiest driving route possible. Any help you could give would be appreciated. Many Thanks.

Hi Gray - I've been given the basic route he intends to take, he says from Paris he's using the A10 - A71 - A20. It means nothing to me because i've never driven there before. But if you can make sense of that and reccomend some sites for him with contact details he would be most grateful indeed. Many Thanks.

Right here goes

First I would bypass Paris big style especially if he does tow

A216, 62100 Calais on E15 [Rocade Est] (North)

onto A26 Omer / Lens / Arras / Lille Par Lens / Reims-Paris
onto A4 [E50]
onto A26 [E17]
onto A5 [E17]
onto A31 [E17]
onto A6 [E15]
onto A7 [E15]
onto A9 / E15
Arrive A9, 66480 Le Perthus

SUMMARY
Driving distance: 770.9 miles
Driving time: 11 hours, 25 minutes

That's the route I'd take especially because I'd have the caravan on the back, I know it's longer than your friends
BUT no periphique Phew!!
It is how ever an easy route with plenty of areas to stop and eat in relative safety but not camp over night anymore

I would possibly stop off at one of these on the way

Firstly I have NOT visited any of them. I found them due to them being open all year. I would use one out of the Camping Cheques book as that's what I'd be using to pay with
