Added complication....the Customs Dept want huge upfront payments for the importation of all the equipment. No other country makes this charge to F1

This is why after 15yrs I have decided this is the last year, there is a big world out there that I would like to see, without the stupidity of the visa forms, which gets more and more daft and difficult to obtain every year, it breaks my heart to say goodby, but as much as I love India its time to move on.

Fully understand your point of view Lin b, if this visa debacle gets any worse there could very well be a lot more joining you.
I know that the F1 dates for next year have been released but it's not too late for it to be moved if the visa and customs situation doesn't improve for all those concerned with F1, and in all honesty it would serve the Indian Government right.

Lin B...I must admit I thought along those lines for this next season but....Goa won, but only by a small margin! So it wouldn't much for me to look elsewhere.

Bindoobaba, I think your avatar sums up the visa situation very well!! :rofl

The reason we are going back this year is I am in the middle of dental implants, had the rods put in last march and have to have the tooth attached and a few other minor dental work, also to clean out our apartment, it's bitter sweet and I think I will find it very hard, I am peeved off with the usual visa c.r.a.p we face each year, if india doesn't want us there are many places with their arms open wide, and thats where I am going,

We too are likely going to make Novembers visit our last one, we've been there through thick and thin since the late eighties but all the visa nonsense, special photos etc has been the last straw. As we visit Oz every two years and are just back from our usual two weeks in Thailand, Goa was always a "bargain break" bet, staying where we stay in Scotland, getting down to Manchester to hook up with Qatar means another night in a hotel, train fares etc so the three weeks stay can become anything but a bargain. To arrive at Bangkoks airport, move smoothly through immigration, the visa's simple little form, issued and filled in on the plane, and stapled into our passports, was a far cry from the hassle of the Indian visa experience I'm about to commence shortly. We've many magic memories of Goa, mostly from th unspoiled early days, limited accomodation, few restuarants, no Newtons, no teeshirt or handbag shops and so on but less and less magic ones recently, as Goa changes into a different place than that we fell in love with all those years ago

its all so senseless isnt it, when other countries manage it so easily... totally baffling...sad thing is by the time they realise what they have done and that everyone has abandoned ship it will likely be too late :(

I love the idea of giving the cars horns. But then instead of the sponsorship on the back, they would have to have the obligatory "Horn Please" sign.

Will they leave the plastic covers on the seats, and decorate the dashboard with flowers?

Will there be one driver who defies the rules of the road and drives INTO oncoming traffic?

And will there be cows on the track?

OMG! Can you imagine if a cow wandered onto the track in Delhi?!!

Just been on the Indian F1 site that is selling tickets for the Delhi Grand Prix on 30th Oct.

15000rps (£190) for the racing on the Sunday :yikes
or
35000rps (£444) for the 3-day ticket :yikes

That's more than Silverstone!!

As of today about 25% of the total tickets (30,000) are still up for grabs. Meaning that 90,000 have been sold at that price :que

We need to cut back on our tips :rofl
Reply
are these the prices for westerners or is everyone paying that price? we know that prices do differ for pio's as they could not afford it as we know. 2 tier pricing. maybe its mainly corporate!!!

:que :think :cheers :sun2

Will the pit stops be done in the usual Indian laid back style?
