The trains run every ½ hour from Malaga-Maria Zambrano to Fuengirola station, leaving Malaga @ 03 minutes past the hour and 33 minutes to the hour.

When you come out of the station at Fuengirola, cross over the road via the zebra crossing and vere left around the corner, walk the short distance straight ahead to the bus station.
Walk passed all the buses and you'll come to a 'square', the Mijas bus stop is on the corner, there is no need to get a ticket at the booth, you pay the driver on this route.€1.40 single adult....timetable for Fuengirola/Mijas on page 2 of the link below.

hi Sanji,

Thanks for that info about getting the bus to mijas from Fuengirola. As I'm hoping to visit next April, I'd like to add that page with the bus timetable to my favourites but I can't seem to open the link. Keeps saying webpage cannot be found.
Thanks

I've just found this alternative timetable. Maybe of use to anyone who's getting problems accessing the other site.

I'm presuming so as I've recently read some pdf pages. I tried getting into similar websites to the one on your link, through the google search engine e.g. instead of fuengirola, I tried other areas but although the website addresses showed up in the search, I couldn't access those either :que

thanks for the screen shot.

Can you access these?...in the first link, click on horarios/timetable, click on Fuengirola and the pdf file should open.

http://www.ctsa-portillo.es/

or try this...
Click on download timetables and the same pdf file opens that you are having problems with.

I've sometimes had problems when opening links. I was given some advice (can't remember where from) and that was to press ctrl key at the same time as clicking the link. This opens a new window, a tab will appear at the top of the page, click on that. It worked for me, maybe it's worth a try?

The http://www.ctsa-portillo.es/ domain doesn't open for me.

http://www.ctsa-portillo.com works and appears to redirect to http://www.avanzabus.com/web/horarios.html where you can then access the Fuengirola-Mijas service on page 2 of this pdf file: http://www.avanzabus.com/web/archivos/b ... girola.pdf

They've all just opened for me. Hmmm strange. I did press the ctrl key though.

There does appear to be an intermittent problem with their .es domain. Sanji's links are now opening for me, but the timetable which currently displays appears to be from July, whereas the .com domain redirects and takes you to the timetable from September. Perhaps the problem with some links may be because they are updating the site with new timetables, although it does appear at the moment as if the .es domain has had no updates for a while, and users have been reporting problems with it for a few months.

no matter anyway as I've added the site I found to my favourites. Thanks for trying to sort it for me Sanji :tup

:que Strange one.
I always check that the links work, I checked when I posted at midnight, I checked again this morning and was able to get a screenshot, but it does seem that Portillo site is now being redirected and accessed through the Avanzabus site, so maybe they are in the process of ditching the local Portillo site.?

Never mind, all's well that ends well.
