GKP Travel International (Flydeals) ceased trading on the 4th July 2007. How do I know this because I had booked flights with them to Tenerife in October. I booked through flydeals.co.uk in October last year and have just found out about the demise of this company. I would not have know and only found out about it when I tried to change a spelling mistake on the booking and got a complete run around.

This morning I managed to get a hold of a phone number for ABTA as the company was bonded with them. The chap there told me that Thomas Cook had taken over the bookings made by customers of Flydeals and would honour them if proof of payment and confirmation of flight details was given to them. The lady I spoke knew all about the situation now and gave me the relevant address to send my details which I have now done and will await the outcome. She also told me that only the deposit had been paid by Flydeals and so they would have to claim the balance from ABTA as both companies were members this is why she needed proof that I had paid the full amount. She also said that my flights would go ahead and not to worry and a letter would be coming out to me next week.
