The Yorkshire Bridge looks really nice, but it is a bit far out. I think it's going to be between the Avondale and the Birds Nest in Glossop itself. Anybody stayed at either of them recently?

I live in Hadfield where they filmed the League of Gentlemen, Glossop has some nice shops and scenery. You could go to J.W. Metricks in Hadfield (Hillary Briss) and buy some "special sausages" it has been voted as the best local butcher on numerous occasions.

Past the snakes pass from Glossop, you are likely to get nicer guest houses and B&B's. There is not that many that I would recommend in Glossop, however there is the benefit of not having to travel through the snakes pass as the traffic is horrendous.

You could always stay in Manchester which is a 30 minute train journey or around 50 minutes in the car.

I can't recommend it as I don't know anyone who has stayed but it looks decent. It's only about a mile or so from the town centre.
