I dont know the distance but we did this journey in May.
Train from S Susanna to Blanes (about 10-15 mins) on to a waiting coach to Lloret about another 15 mins.
You can walk to Malgrat and we also walked one way from Calella through Pineda to S Susanna, but got the train there.

Train is excellant and cheap, train to blanes, get off and get bus that is waiting to loret, really easy to do, you can also get bus from loret to tossa de mar which is lovely, we did it from santa susanna to blanes to loret to tossa in just an hour, from santa susanna to pineda you can walk and its a nice flat walk as well, at a slow pace 30 mins or a train in about 3 mins only coppers, you pay for the train and bus at the station

I thnk the water taxis also go down as far as Santa Susanna from Lloret and Tossa.
