Just got back this Tuesday.
Had a great time, caught most of the fiesta and November is a great time to visit Benidorm, when the fiesta is on. The colourful processions included many bands, there were fireworks - big fireworks- every day and the old town was absolutely heaving with activity and merriment every evening. The atmosphere there was fantastic, you could here lively Spanish banter, mixed with bangers, and all sorts of music as you drifted round the crowded streets. It strikes you that you could be in any busy town in Spain, not necessarily a major tourist resort.
The weather was lovely and we spent most days on levente beach fishing whilst the children swam happily in the warm sea, whilst we were fishing, a couple of cormorants landed and gave us an exhibition of how fish should really be caught, we stopped fishing for a while till they had had their fill and left, then managed to catch a variety of smallish fish and a crab!
Never saw any loutish behaviour, although we never went round the square after 12.00, as it did seem to be getting rowdier.
Saw some good acts in the cabaret bars including Tony Scot and Gary George - both great comics, we also caught Woody Brown (by accident), very crude (left due to child), but funny!!!
Lots of good food, tapas and everything, but the highlight was the barbeque ribs at the Magic Roundabout-yummy.

Folk that have never been to Benidorm, yet compare it to Blackpool should be made to visit Benidorm to eat their words.
