Hi The Dog,

There are a few photos & a slideshow of the Kavarna area HERE, HERE and HERE.

I visited Kavarna in March 2005 and was less than impressed - the fact that there was a thick layer of snow on the ground at that time may have coloured my impression of the place. The golf course site (virtually undeveloped at the time) which I visited was between Kavarna & Balchik, near a village called Topola.

Hi The Dog,

Sorry that I couldn't be more reassuring but those were my impressions at the time and I have not visited since (and no real intention to do so).

With lots of development money thrown at it {and some sunshine  }, things may look much better. It's certainly not an overdeveloped area like some of the large beach resorts.

It sounds as if you didn't visit the area before you purchased? Something that I would never advocate in Bulgaria (or even in this country!)
