Thanks TC. :D

It seems to have been a long time coming (I booked on 3 January), but now it's nearly here!

It's a year ago since I had food poisoning for the first 4-1/2 days in Vegas and didn't get to all the dinners and restaurants I had planned. There are loads of people at work with either the cold or a sickness bug, but I have been dosing myself up with echinacea in the hope of fending off any bugs.

Luci make sure you stay away from the eggs on the plane, in fact make some sarnies and take them with you

We will be arriving 25th November and have now definitely sorted 5 nights Paris and 5 nights Caesars.

I know what you mean about the jetlag and reports and it hits me exactly the same so this time Chubs will be going with us and we have decided to do a daily report with photo's for all to see (well thats the plan anyway)

Anyway have a great time and good luck on the slots

Thanks John and Dawn. Will try and leave some money in the slots for you John.

I certainly won't be touching any eggs on the flight. :yuck

Did you get a good rate for Paris? I've never really thought of staying there and their rates always seem high compared to other places. I take it you got another good deal at Caesars.

I'm looking forward to staying at the Bellagio to see how it compares to the Venetian and Caesars.

HERE is a site with Vegas type slots that you can play for free. Once you lose your 2000 points you have to wait 1/2 an hour or so before you can play again. I've had it up to over 34000 points.

That's exactly what I do, all that planning. I actually make a spreadsheet up - sad or what!?!

Only two comments to make on your choices......

Harrah's brunch. I have done this (last september) and the champagne is vile. Won't matter if you're having mimosa I suppose. This year we went to Aladdin for brunch and it was great, and the champagne was very palatable! And you can choose to have just brunch or add the champagne on (think it's $3).

Hilton buffet. I'm absolutely cringeing  at the thought of you using that coupon, but not choosing a buffet where you get beer and wine included! I like to maximise my value for money

You will love Spamalot! We thought it was great.

Have a fantastic trip! Feels like I should be going soon....it has been a long time since June, and will be a long time till next september!

Yes I'm another saddo that makes up a planner divided into morning, afternoon, evening and night for each day. The thing is I don't really need it as I've memorised everything we're planning to do. It's how I go to sleep every night.

We aren't going for the champagne brunch at Harrah's. We'll be going early before the brunch starts and just having normal buffet breakfast. I don't like champagne anyway, not even the good stuff although I did drink it on our limo trip just because it was in Vegas.

Hmmm, I did wonder about using the LV Hilton coupon for dinner seeing as you get free wine and beer, but then I forgot about it. Change of plan. We are now going to Harrah's or Denny's for breakfast on Saturday and going to the LV Hilton for dinner on Sunday. Thanks Lesley! Sunday was the only night that we weren't sure where to go so that's settled now. We're staying at the Bellagio so will get the monorail from Paris/Bally's.

I'm hoping that we like Spamalot. Neither of us are into Monty Python, but we're running out of shows to see with going so often! I keep reading of people that really liked it even though they didn't like Python so I hope that's us.

Luci I would like to know what you think of the new shows this year.

Paris was $89 and $99 a night through the stay and I got Caesars for $133 a night even on the Friday and Saturday so did well but still need to try the upgrade trick just to say I did it

I have been using Blue Square for quite a while now as I have an account for my gee gees with them and love the wheel of fortune

We will be doing plenty of drinking in the Royale and of course Oshea's and lots of $1 margarita's will be polished off along with the $1 beers

That's a good price for both Paris and Caesars, especially for a weekend. Yet again we've managed to go on one of the busiest weekends in Vegas when the rates are sky high. There's a huge convention just finishing our first 3 days there. Luckily I booked the hotels early.

We're staying at the IP in a deluxe room for $109, the Bellagio at $179 and PH at $69. Will be trying the $20 at the Bellagio and PH. It worked like a charm at PH in May and got us a fountain view room for both stays (we stayed at the IP at the weekend).

We don't seem to take advantage of the $1 drinks, although we do get most of our drinks while gambling.

I know where you can get cheaper Margaritas - no need to pay a full $ for them! 99c at Bill's (formerly Barbary Coast). Just go up to the back left of the casino (beyond where big Elvis sings), and there's a margarita bar against the wall back there. They're not bad too! We used to slip in the side door when walking from the Westin in June, or even when we were at Paris just to have a cool drink to walk up the strip!

Isn't that the bar right next to the sports book and not far from the Victoria Room restaurant

I always intend doing a planner, but usually end up with a ToDo list that gets things ticked off when we manage to do them. It will be different this year because we have the family with us. Mum, Dad, brother and SIL. That is why we will be doing the Grand Canyon this time. It will keep the family happy. (I hope)

I do have all my coupons from the ACG in separate envelopes for each different area, so that I can look for a coupon quickly.

Luci, we will overlap by a few days. We arrive at 5pm on 5th November so long as we make our connection in Chicago.

We're staying at Imperial Palace, Gold Coast, Holiday Inn Express @ GC, Planet Hollywood and Bills Gambling Hall.

Thanks peeps.

Yes I did use CCE for my TC's again and actually placed 2 orders with them that were both delivered on the same day as promised. However I jumped when the rate they were offering was $2 incase it went down. (You can get $2.10 from them at the moment for delivery in March).

As the rate is currently $2.06, I am not intending using the TC's, but will withdraw cash from the ATM's using my Nationwide FlexAccount card as they pay the Interbacnk rate. Will be using the ATM inside Casino Royale as it only has a $1 fee.

Have a brilliant time Peter and make sure that limo takes you on a tour up the strip rather than just taking you direct to your hotel. Hope you do better than me and post a trip report when you get back.

Good luck with the flights pebbles. You will have loads of reviews to do with staying at all those hotels. How long are you there for this time? You will be arriving at the IP when we are moving to Planet Hollywood. I'm hoping to score a resort room and don't mind if it's remodeled or not.

Only one more day to work. :D Probably won't be able to sleep tomorrow night with excitement and we have to be up at 3am on Thursday to drive to the airport. Will be lucky if we stay up much later thant 10.30pm the first night there between that and the 8 hour time difference.

PLEASE tell me what CCE is?????

John,

I don't know where the Victoria room is either I'm afraid........but all I can describe it like is it's about 2/3 or so of the way back when you're in the casino. If you're coming from the front door, pass the main bar (in the middle of the casino, and facing big elvis on one side) and keep left. It's probably near one of the further back doors to the casino on flamingo road.

It will be the one just after the toilets and on the left at the corner of the sports book.

I never actually bought a drink from there but did get quite a few given to me by the cocktail girls.

The Victorian room is at the back of the casino on the right just after the doors to East Flamingo Road

CCE = Crown Currency Exchange where you can pre order and get good rates

what a great idea to do a pre trip report  I know exactly what you mean about jet lag. I'm going downhill fast after being wide awake the last couple of days at 3am. Am about to start my trip report now but would rather put my head down
